This is a work of fiction. The world takes place in a version of the Azur Lane universe that will be altered by the arrival of our protagonist and the subsequent forming of a new major nation. The story begins after the attack on the Azur Lane's base and the declaration of war by the Crimson Axis. Current factions at the time of the story's prologue are:

Azur Lane
Sirens
All nations are currently aligned with one party or the other, however, much like in the game and anime, the Crimson Axis is working with the Sirens to a limited degree. Further details on the world and its lore in this alternate timeline will be revealed through the story. It should be noted that this story is based primarily on the anime's version of the world's events and characters rather than the game and their gameplay. However, there will be moments where all available sources are used to further enhance the characters and the story at large (specifically for none original characters).
