Ch21: Be Discreet

<<Boudica's POV>>

It's been a few days since the Queen came back to part severely damaged. Now, everyone's sceptical of me and my sisters because we look like girls from the Sakura Empire. It can't really be helped, since we do have the ears, tails and all but it's not our fault! If it weren't for the others we'd have probably already been locked away...

Artemisia: There you are!

Artemisia's voice snaps my focus back to the present. I look up to see her running towards me with Zenobia in tow. She looks excited. I wonder...

Artemisia: Come on! 

Boudica: Where are we going?

Artemisia: Miss Jizelle wants to speak to us.

Oh. Did we do something wrong? Maybe it's about returning to Pacifica for something. I continue drawing up various scenarios in mind but before I know it, we're there.

Jizelle: Excellent, you're here.

Zenobia: How's Her Majesty? 

Jizelle: I'm about to go and check on her again but Monique says she's recovering faster than she expected so I think she'll be up on her feet in no time.

Sisters and Me: Awesome!

Jizelle: I have a mission for you though.

Boudica: Oh?

Jizelle: As you no doubt know, the three of you have the appearance to pass as girls from Sakura Empire. As such, I want you to infiltrate their nation and find out their plans. This means you won't be able to use most of your weapon systems while you are there as it'd blow your cover but I know you're all capable fighters even without your rigs. 

Zenobia: That's right!

Jizelle: Remember though, you're there to find out their plans. You'll need to blend in and use fake names whilst you are there but the minute you find out what their plans are you are to leave. Fight your way out if necessary. Understood? 

All: Yes ma'am!

Jizelle: You'll have three days to find out all you can once you're in. On the third day at night, you're to leave and head straight out to sea. Tamari and Pierze will meet you there and escort you back here. If you run into any trouble, they'll also assist you in your escape. Remember, if anything happens, if your position is compromised, withdraw immediately. We cannot afford for any of you to be captured. 

Boudica: Leave it to us! We'll have it done in no time. 

Jizelle: I know you will. I look forward to your return. 

With that she dismisses us. I can't tell who's more excited, my sister or me. We run to our ships at top speed, eager to get started on our first real mission. Once we arrive at the docks, however, we're stopped by Tamari and Pierze. 

Tamari: It looks like they've just heard the news, sis. 

Pierze: Haha, it truly does. They're all but jumping with excitement. 

Artemisia: Are you coming with us right now?

Tamari stoops so she's on my sister's level before responding.

Tamari: Nope, this is all on you. We won't set off for another two days. Wouldn't want to have to sit in the middle of the ocean and wait around whilst you girls have all the fun now, would we?

Pierze: Absolutely not!

Artemisia: Awe.

Tamari: Don't worry, we'll be there if you need help and, as a bonus, we'll get to travel back together.

Artemisia jumps with excitement when she hears this. She's always liked Tamari. We all do. In fact, Tamari, Aika and Pierze have been like big sisters to us for as long as we can remember. I wonder if Aika will be joining them when they come for us...

Tamari: Now, do make sure to take these. 

She hands us little lunch kits. We had completely forgotten we'd need food along the way. It's a good thing they caught us before we left.

Tamari: And remember not to eat it all at once. 

Zenobia: Yes mom! 

We all laugh.

Tamari: You're saying that now but we'll see who's laughing when you run out of food halfway there and we come to find you stranded.

Zenobia simply smiles and runs to her ship. Artemisia and I hug them both before heading to our own as well. 

Zenobia: We'll see!

With that, we all set off. I hope we can make everyone proud.
