Iowa Headcannons

This was originally supposed to be midwest headcannons, but then I realized these are all about Iowa, sjskks. Can we tell my homestate?

~ Iowa as the (somewhat annoying) younger brother of Illinois

~ I could potentially see Nebraska as their brother too

~ I'm really torn between forgotten middle child Iowa, or sweet, I'm gonna follow my big brother around Iowa

~ Kanowa is a cute ship

~ Allow me to provide some obscure history facts. Did yall know there was a "war" between Iowa and Missouri? It's a real thing that happened and hilarious, but I'll go into it another day

~Kansas and Iowa bond because of this whole debacle considering Kansas and Missouri already hate each other

~ Honey can be a fairly... dividing(?) topic between the two (Iowa and Missouri). The right comment about it can and will send those two into an argument. Florida hasn't figured that one out yet, but heavens help if he did

~ (of course, he'd have to know who Iowa was for that to happen)

~ working on a lil something for this, but the derecho took a Lot out of Iowa. He's used to tornadoes and other storms, but this was a whole new level for him

~ going off the last one, no one bothered to check on Iowa after the derecho for a Hot Minute. By the time someone (Kansas?) Found him he was completely exhausted and hysterical

~ No one outside of the midwest knows Iowa's call.

~ Illinois tries to look out for Iowa, but there's only so much one can do

~ Iowa's probably on the shorter side, maybe 5'2-5'3

~ (Pats Iowa on head) you can fit so many abandonment issues and fears of being forgotten in here

~ because of his abandonment issues he really only let's himself be close with the other midwest states. His neighbors can't get rid of him, but any other states could drop him on a moments notice. Better to just not get attached in the first place

~Part of him wants to be recognized by the others, but he also doesn't trust people

~ soft boy Iowa, loves flowers and Will make people flower crowns

~ he has a soft spot for tulips in particular (Pella tulip festival is a Thing)

~ He also likes to feed the birds and squirrels

~ oh, I almost forgot, show choir is big here. Think glee club, but also show choir kids hate being compared to that. Iowa gets shy and embarrassed about it around most people, but he can sing and dance
