With glimmers and applause, let's welcome our second position holder of the Esthetíque Royal Fanfiction Awards 2020 Euphoric_18

I: Interviewer
W: Winner (Yukta)

I: First of all congratulations on grabbing second position overall in the fanfiction awards. How did you feel when you found out the results?

W: Thank you so much! I couldn't believe it when I saw the results because, to be honest, I had never expected it. Even being shortlisted for the overall category was a big deal and then winning the second position meant a lot. But I felt content to see that my book is doing.

I: That's good to hear! Your book belong to fan fiction. Is fan fiction your favorite genre?

W: Only when it comes to Samaina, otherwise I like independent fiction work more.

I: What's your favourite fiction book?

W: There are many actually. Broken, Deeper, Silently Falling are some of them. I don't remember the names of the authors.

I: Do you read books of different genres?

W: Yes, sometimes!

I: Who is your favourite published book author?

W: I don't read much offline published books.
But if you are asking I would say Pablo Coelho since the recent one I had read was written by him.

I: Who is your favorite wattpad author?

W: This one is tough cuz there are many.

I: Who are your top three or so?

W: Isabelle Ronin
Anya Jayvyn
Niki Singh

I: Do you wish to be a published author one day?

W: I enjoy writing for sure but never pictured myself as a published author. But if I'd ever get a chance and the right path, I may consider it. I am not suresmile.

I: What is one thing that you like the most about Wattpad?

W: As a reader, Wattpad has always been my favorite in terms of the wide range of content it has to read.

As a writer, well, this is my first experience and at first, I was apprehensive but the support I got from other writers was marvelous. That's the thing I like the most about it. It brings people together as a family even if we don't know each other personally.

I: What's one thing that you don't like about Wattpad?

W: Umm...as there isn't anything major that I don't like but the 'Publish' option gets irritating sometimes. If I accidentally click on it while writing the draft of a chapter, the whole of it gets published without asking for any permission. It creates chaos. The readers message me when they aren't able to open the chapter and I  have a very hard time explaining each of them.

I: How do you cope with writers block?

W: It's terrible you know. At times, I just sit clutching my head in frustration. It becomes so messed up. Therefore, I take a break to clear my mind off, to think clearly what I had wanted in the story to be shown in the first place. I don't even touch the draft until my brain is functioning properly enough to think about some creative ideas for the story. And then, when everything seems to be fine, I begin working on it again.

I: Do you like when people give feedback on your book?

W: Of course! I appreciate it when people give feedback, be it positive or negative. It helps me to know how the storyline is being received among them which further helps in working on the book.

I: What is the best comment you have gotten on your book?

W: It's very difficult to pick one from them since almost all of them are best for me.

I: What’s on thing you wish you did differently when you started to write?

W: When I had started to write, I didn't structure the plot properly which somewhere affects the story now sometimes. So this is the one thing I wish I could have worked on more.

I: What is some advise you would give to people who want to start writing?

W: I would advise them to definitely go for it without worrying about the repercussions. You don't have to be a professional. Writing is just another form of conveying one's thoughts and perspectives to others. It's no rocket science and no one's going to judge you.

I: When was the toughest time to write?

W: I usually find it tough to write anything when my mind runs out of creative ideas for the chapter. Moreover, I am a college student, so all these online classes and assignments don't let me give enough time to my chapter. That's where it gets tough.

I: Have you ever thought about writing a story in a genre you have never done before?

W: I am new to writing. This is my very first story. So, I am much comfortable in the romantic genre only, though at times I often wonder if I can write a story belonging to a historic genre too.

I: What made you want to join the Esthetíque fanfiction awards 2020?

W: I just wanted to see how my book is doing and there was no better way than to take part in the awards. The feedback helped me a lot.

I: That's great to hear. Thank you so much, Yukta, for giving your precious time to us and for talking about such beautiful things about writing. We wish you lots of success in your further writings. It was great talking to you!

W: Thank you so much!
