How do we know that we're falling in love?
Is it the blurry future you see at the stare of their eye
Or the unheard sound of a breaking heart you hear each time they wave goodbye
I think it's the time you felt emotions rise
Feelings fight - A touch so tight
Yet it all didn't feel alright
For we're just friends - Better save my dreams for the night.
Girls say it's the blissful feeling I felt when I was around you
That tiny comfort that always felt new
And I never noticed it until I was taken away from you
To realize that all along I was in love with you
While Guys say it's the simple thoughts of kissing her
The impulsive urge of holding her
Yet each time you try to, the more you're drifted away from her
For she's special:
A single moment of pleasure is not worth losing the tiny measure
Of her affection.
Now how did I know when I was falling in love with you
The beautiful feeling I felt lying next to you
Lyrics I'd write each time I felt I'm missing you
And songs I'd sing hoping I'd forget about you.
The way I'd renounce when people noticed that I was falling for you
Because in my world you're just a friend to me
I don't know if reality wanted us to more than be
I guess we'll have to see.
