Perfect Imperfections

Yes, I was told,

But I chose my way

The way that led to defeat

Wrong decisions pierced my soul

Impulsiveness tarnished my reputation.

Immaturity destroyed my respect.

But I grew.

Closure I seek

Living in denial

I imprisoned my soul

Wept for one to tell me it's a nightmare

But the pain was enough

Too much to take

Needed to stand and wipe the dust

Then I dried the waterfall

Those imperfections were to perfect me.

Crucial decision taken

To save a soul from drowning

Walking away from my past

My past wasn't my final destination.

I have:

A purpose to accomplish

Dreams to reach

God to serve and worship

Loving me was a priority

And serving God was a lifestyle
