I took a pen to write
Midnight memories - I held it tight
To write about the one I adore
The one I'd one day wish to die for
Music hauled in my ears
Trying to suppress my fears
For I can't cry and Count my tears
I played a song that brought her cheers
Trying to recall the moments she used to laugh, love
And cry at the comfort of my arms
Moments when she'll suddenly kiss me
Because she can't bear us spiraling into an emotional fight
I took a pen to write
Things I would remember apart from her delicate smile
The amusing innocent looks of her eyes
The dense posture of her gestures
When she wakes up and decides to think otherwise
And The way she'd timidly beat me
Each time she can't control her pleasant laughter
I took a pen to write
I alone sat under the thick silence of the night
Wondering who is holding you now
Wondering who is provoking the sensual looks of your eyes
Wondering if you miss me as much as I wake up,
And be dying to see that one person who woke up thinking otherwise
I took a pen to write
Teardrops on a page - I held it tight
To write a letter for the one I adore
The one I can't hear from anymore
I took a pen to write
Hoping you're writing the same letter to me
The letter you'd neatly fold - Tightly wrapped
Lay it beneath the bulky firewood
And hope that it haunts in flames...
So that by the breeze, its words will one day envelop my heart
And silently whisper that I will one day get to set my eyes on you
Till then, My efforts will go into erasing you
For the best thing, a heart could ever do,
Is to accept That there is nothing it can further do
Than to let go of you...
