The title looks a little serious, but i promise it's not that! this series is me addressing comments i thought were important, just funny, needed a longer response, or that i think more people should see. :)
Wanted to address this one first, as i think it's important. first of all, you're free to do whatever you wanna do! pronoun changes are always fine. additionally, i've been wanting to make a more neutral fic to accommodate everyone! what are our thoughts on a non-binary oc in a platonic fic like this one?
If this gets good feedback i may write one, although i reallyyyy lack motivation rn 😀
When I started this book, I had just gotten into wattpad. Most of the fanfics i read where reader insert using y/n, and i assumed that was what i was supposed to do when i made this. looking back, i also hate xreader fics now, and in the future i probably won't write one again :)
I honestly didn't realize how rare platonic fics are. I started writing this book because i got tired of xreader fics having similar plots (guy meets girl online, they start talking, meet up irl, fall in love, then date, etc.) Well, admittedly, my book does follow relatively the same style, i wanted it to be at least somewhat different.
Most authors tend to self-insert themselves in their characters, just because it's what they are familiar with. it's easier to write about things similar to yourself than make them up! for that reason, a lot of these in the book are my characteristics: 14, Canadian, etc, and that even comes down to sexuality. I am still questioning mine, although i am 98% pansexual with a preference for women. However, i've been seeing people saying that pan people shouldn't have preferences, that they like people off their personalities, so i'm not sure. if i were to date somebody, i would care more about their personality, but i feel like i am more physically attracted to women. if any queer people would like to educate me on this, that would be awesome! <3
i've actually seen a bit of controversy around this topic. while i think that tubbo has either not confirmed their pronouns, or was a little confused about the question, i usually use they/them pronouns for everyone occasionally subconsciously. i do this especially in writing because i don't like seeing "he, he, he, he" so many times, and i like to switch it up.
dont know what i was on that day, but i would like it again, because it was a genius idea [a joke, don't do drugs kids!] anywho, reading through these replies really makes me laugh, as well as the fact that chapter has BY FAR the most upvotes :)
i am truly sorry for my actions. i have long stopped using the 🥺✨ emojis (except sarcastically). some of my favourites now i use mostly jokingly, and they are: 😩🥰😀😎❤️😍🤩😭😏✋😳
(seriously, somebody take the 😩 emoji away from me. i use it too much, and not well. for example "wanna play bedwars 😩" and "i'm going to bed😩". people are gonna think there's something seriously wrong with me.)If you read this all the way, seriously, i love you a lot. Give this an upvote, and leave a comment about your thoughts on the new book idea! <3
