A few days had past and I was desperately trying to get used to life in the normal. However, tensions were still relatively high. Jesses funeral went as expected until Vince decided he wanted to pick a fight. I was actually starting to feel sympathetic for him. Starting to feel guilty for everything I did to him especially after Brian came. Similar to Dom though, he chose to continue acting like a douche bag.
"Fuck this shit!" I shouted from the living room slamming my glass of bourbon down on the coffee table. It shattered instantly as it made contact with the table. The shards of glass shot upwards and into my palm piercing my hand and wrist. Blood began to drizzle from my hand. Letty's eyes widened and Mia gasped but I didn't give a crap in the moment my adrenaline was rushing so hard.
"All I asked is where Spilner ran off." Vince shrugged unphased and unbothered with what happened.
"You know damn well what you F*%king asked!" He had asked me where my boyfriend was and if he ran off to.
"He didn't kill Jesse you fricking asshole, Tran did!" I was about to let it all slid out but I refused to break, even though I wasn't sure why. No part of me was defending Brians involvement but he didn't pull the trigger. Vince always had suspicions about Brian being a cop. Everyone knew that Brian and I parted ways though not exactly why. Only Mia and Letty new that part.
"Oh, when did I say that." He scoffed before rolling his eyes.
"You implied it. Tran got what he deserved. Maybe Brian went to end things."
He gave another scoff, "Huh sure."
I formed a fist with my bloody hand, driving the glass in deeper in.
"I swear to God Vince if you keep talking-"
"Enough." Doms voice rose from the entry way of the house. Vince raised his hands in innocence before taking a seat on the couch.
Dom nodded his head towards the kitchen as he moved past me. I rolled my eyes and followed him reluctantly. He opened one cabinet and took out the first aid kit we had. He pointed over to the sink. I sighed and held my arm out over the sink as he took ahold of my blood hand I immediately winced in pain. Now that the adrenaline from my argument was gone it really was starting to hurt. He looked at me before pulling out the large pieces of glass with his fingers. He then proceeded to use tweezers to remove the small bits. I grunted uncomfortably as he meticulously identified and pulled each jagged piece. After the glass was gone. He wrapped my hand in a piece of cloth to absorb some of the blood.
"This will hurt." He said after a few moments of silence. I suddenly felt a burning sensation over my hand as he dumped peroxide over it.
"AGH!" I screamed immediately. He held my arm tighter so I wouldn't jerk it away from him. He wrapped it with the cloth again and then proceeded to bandage up my whole hand.
I frowned when he let my hand go.
"Better?" He questioned while crossing his arms over his chest.
"No! That hurt." I snapped back immediately.
"You know you're buying me a new glass right?"
I narrowed my eyes at him and scowled.
He chuckled when I stuck my tongue out at him. He brushed some of my hair back and laid a kiss on my temple as I analyzed the white bandaging.
"What I'd say about behaving yourself?"
"I did behave myself. The glass could have gone in his face instead of my hand."
He beamed a smile and nodded his head a few times.
"Are you okay though?"
"Yeah, I'm fine." I nodded while producing a half smile.
"I got another run to do tonight. Just so you know."
"Oh, do you have to seriously do it now Dom?"
"This one's going to pay a lot Charlie. We can't pass it up tonight. I'd have you go with us but." He took my arm in his hand and held it up.
"You shouldn't be going at all Dom. It's stupid and dangerous. I don't care how much it pays. I've got a bad feeling about this."
"Just calm down." He placed both his hands on my shoulders, "We've done it dozens of times before. This is no different. After the race tonight we're leaving."
I wasn't going to let him go without a fight. I could feel the anxiety building in my chest as my pulse beat quicker.

"Dom don't do this!" I restated as Mia and I followed him close.
"Dom listen to her!" I don't feel good about this either.
He whipped around quickly, "I'm doing this for all us."
"You're doing this for yourself and another quick buck Dominic not because you give a damn about what we think!"
Dom looked over at Mia for assistance but she just shrugged her shoulders.
He took one arm and pulled me in towards his chest. I wrapped my arms around his neck.
"I promise I'll be back soon." He gave me a kiss on the cheek before going and kissing Mia as well.
"Dom!" I called out again as he opened his car door. I could feel my eyes beginning to water.
"I haven't said shit about this till now! Please, I'm asking you not to go."
"Both of you stay here until we get back." Was the only thing he replied before speeding off after Vince, Leon and Letty.
"Damn it!" I shouted stomping my foot on the ground.
"Charlie! Mia!" I didn't turn around when I heard Brians voice rising through the crowd of racers that surrounded us.
"Come on." I grabbed Mia's hand as we both rushed deeper into the crowd.
"Charlie!" He called out again but I didn't stop moving. Mia was ahead of me now making sure I didn't get left behind.
"Charlie what's going on?" I felt a hand touch my shoulder.
"Do you have a death wish?! I thought you left town."
I turned back towards Mia who grabbed my hand again and began pulling me towards her.
"What's going on Charlie? You know what I'm talking about."
"No I don't." I expressed trying to push my way past people.
"What, so do you always have tears in your eyes when Dom drives away?" I stopped in my tracks and immediately turned glaring at him
"What the hell is with you?!
"Come on. What is he racing off in the middle of the night for? You know about the trucks."
"We're leaving." Mia quickly interrupted while giving Brian a cold look.
"Would you two listen to me." He sighed in frustration but we kept walking. Just when I thought he would give up He gripped ahold of my upper arm and turned me around to face him.
"Listen to me." I tried to smack him but he caught my hand before it could make contact.
"Dom is running out of time!" He looked between Mia and I to make sure he had our attention before continuing.
"Charlie, this isn't about me and you, alright? Those trucks aren't lying down anymore. Maybe they'll it through tonight but law enforcement is cracking down on them."
I averted my gaze for a moment as he spoke. I didn't want to hear anything he said or see him but I knew Dom and the gang were in danger. I could feel it.
"If you don't want anything to happen to them. Then get in the car with me right now and help me." His eyes drifted over towards Mia again for a moment, "You two are the only ones that can help me."
I remained quiet a few moments as I processed everything he said. I didn't realize the hand I attempted to smack him with was the same one that Dom just bandaged. He loosened his grip on my wrist when he saw the bandaged and began to look at me with concern.
I jerked my hand out of his.
"Go." Mia nodded as I looked at her for advice.
It was the last thing I wanted to do and wouldn't if I knew that Dom and the team be safe. I hopped in the car with Brian and he immediately raced in the direction that Dom and the team had went.
