I could feel his chest rising and falling as he continued to hold me, his face was smiling his cheeks a slight shade of pink. pulling away as I felt my face heat up, I pulled my hair behind my ear and looked at the ground.

The people around us seemed to not notice the blush on either of our faces. Going to wash and clothe themselves,(for an adventure had led them to smell like death) I walked over to Elrond to ask him myself where I could bathe.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

It was odd, the tub and the shampoo that smelt of roses...

Though I sat with my hair wet and warm water surrounding me, I still sat thinking. My hands shaking and my eyes stinging from teh soap.

Looking at my own hands, I realized that they were scarred, bruised, and bloody... I knew that I was an oddball for Elves, I knew that they veiwed me as something as a joke. A woman on a quest...Laughable.

Letting out a sharp breath I submerged my head in the water and got on with my bath.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

"Miss Madilin? When you are done I have your dress washed and dried on your bed. Okay?"

"thank you!" I yelled out as I jumped out of the bath and wrapped myself in a towel.

Walking out of the bathroom and into a large room, A tall woman with black hair and golden eyes stood at the foot of my bed, looking down at the ground as if she was bowing...Why was she bowing?

quickly getting dressed as she attempted to dry my thick hair, laughing and turning so that I was looking up at her I explained that I would let it air dry. The way that she smiled made my heart soar. Maybe all of the elves didnt think that I was insane for wanting to come with my family on this quest.

"What's your name?" I asked sitting down on the bed and asking her to do the same. " Fioon. Pardon me but may I ask, Why do you travel with such odd company at your side, and why are you the only girl?"

Laughing silently to myself I composed myself and looked up at her," those bafoons out there is my family...Well not actualy just one, My father and his brother are going so I am also. And to answer your question on being the only girl, I am the only daughter of any of those men and my mother...She passed a while ago, My father wouldnt be able to live a day without me!"

Laughing on that bed made me think about Dis and how she was probably thinking of how her sons were fareing in the wild, how I was...

Adad being a guard, knew dis well and that made it that Fili, Kili, and I grew up together. I still remember the day that we departed, watching as Dis hugged her sons, friends, brother, and me goodbye, how her face was streaked with tears. How she made me promice to take care of them...

Hearing a loud throat clearing I looked up, breaking me away from my daydreaming, Fili looked down at me smiling silently telling me that she too had to go, nodding and letting her leave I sighed and stepped out on my balcony.

A large river flowed under the porches of marble, trees, and rocks littering the silver-colored rocks at the river's bend, moss-hung off of the north side of the trees where the sun could not reach and I realized that this would never be my home. I knew that that was a silly thought. A dwarf in Rivendell but no, This would never be my home because the elves always would have a place to fall back to. A place where they could curl up by a fire, or swing their children on a swing at... The lonely mountains would be and would until I passed a land in need of constant care...

sighing and swinging around  I let myself lean against the balconeys railing. keeping my eyes closed as I imagined, I blew a strand of hair out of my face, slowly opening my eyes, I let out a quiet startled yelp. In front of me was a cowering Fili, his face was red with being discovered, in his shaking hands was a bouquet.

Putting my hand theatrically on my chest I playfully glared in HIS direction, "If you wished to kill me you could have just told me, Eh Fili? Come out here and join me, I am not contageous..."

Spinning back so that he leaned next to me watching the river I looked up at his face, his face was red and looked as if he wished I had kept my eyes closed. he was starring out at the water, his grip on the flowers turning his fists white.

Looking up at him I realized that he wouldnt never tell me, knowing that I would have to do this I would have to push him

Looking up at him I realized that he wouldnt never tell me, knowing that I would have to do this I would have to push him...

Sighing and setting my head in my hands so that my hair was a veil I breathed in slowly," Fili tell me the truth please..."

hearing a long, shaky breath in I heard him set the flowers down on the balcony edge. I could hear him sitting on the marble ground. Covering his head in embarrasment. joining him on the ground, I layed my head on his shouler.

"The truth? Well, the truth is that. I like you. A lot. You make me happy. You make me laugh.  You're smart, and you're different. You're a little crazy and awkward, and your smile alone can make my day. Mahal, Madi Im in love with you and it scares me, I don't want this feeling to fade, I want you to be happy but I want you to be happy with me..."

Looking at Fili with tears in my eyes I pried his hands from his face. He was looking down His face fell.

"Fili, look at me..."

Looking up at me from our position on the ground I smiled, "Fili can you braid my hair?"

hello, people who don't get the braiding hair thing, JRR Tolkien said that that is how dwarf courting starts, both of them braiding hair because it is an 'intimate act'
