"You're having your first date at a McDonald's?"

"Honestly? Shut up." Nicole turned around from her closet door and chucked a shoe she had found in there at Michael, who dodged it with a yelp. "It's going to be great, I just need to find my other frog hat!" she added, turning back to the closet and rummaging through it.

Michael laid back on Nicole's bed, letting out a loud groan. "Nicole, you have like, a million frog hats—" He said to as he slid off the bed and landed on his butt. "Just choose one!"

The short girl didn't bother even looking at Michael "I need to find one for Christine, too!" as she said this, she pulled out a lime green baseball cap with a small picture of a frog on it. "Okay I guess I'll wear this one."

"Okay but, why McDonald's?" Michael asked as he watched Nicole put the hat on. "Why not, like, an actually good fast food place? And why dressed as fucking Sesame Street characters?"

Nicole smoothed out her brightly colored striped sweater. "First of all, put some respect on Ernie and Bert's names. Second of all, it'll be fun— OH THERE'S THE OTHER HAT!" She exclaimed and dashed over to her dresser, a smile on her face as she grabbed ahold of the hat she had found. It looked similar to a hat one would wear on a fishing trip, only with two circles on the top representing eyes, and it was dark green.

As she did this, Michael got up and stretched. "Okay then, I guess that's my cue to go."

"Mine, too." Nicole grabbed her purse from the bed and turned off the lights, Michael already halfway out of the room. "Wish me luck!"

"You're going to need it."

"MICHAEL!"

"I'm kidding!" The boy laughed and smirked at Nicole. "Seriously though, have fun!" Michael pat Nicole on the back as they both soon left.

"So, I brought you a hat!" Nicole handed the hat to the short girl in front of her, watching as she took it.

Christine, who had on a sweater just as bright as Nicole's, giggled after a second of examining the hat and placed it on her head. "It's perfect! Now we both have cool hats!" She looked up at Nicole and held out her hand. "Ready to get some food?"

Nicole nodded as she took Christine's hand, only to notice the large bag Christine had with her. "What's with the bag?" She asked curiously, raising her eyebrow.

Christine quickly let down of Nicole's hand. "Oh! I brought a picnic blanket, so we could go to the park and eat." She looked down and started to rummage through the bag, pulling out a small, yellow rubber duck. "I also brought a friend!"

"Oh my g—" Nicole started giggling and felt her face heat up. "That's adorable!"

"I know! Now we're literally Ernie and Bert."

"If they wore frog hats, and were humans, and were lesbians." Nicole pointed out as she calmed down from laughing as Christine put the duck back in her bag. Nicole then took her hand and held it in her own. "Okay, now we're ready?"

"Mhm!"

-

"Rubber ducky, you're the one— c'mon Nicole, sing it with me!" Christine smiled as she stood up  and moved off of the picnic table, spinning around and swirling her skirt around as she sang and danced while holding the small rubber duck.

Nicole, who was still eating her food, caught Christine's hat as it fell off of her head while she was dancing. Christine reached down and took it from Nicole. "Thanks—"

As Nicole took a sip from her soda, she smiled up at Christine. "Rubber ducky, I'm awfully fond of you.." she sang in a sort of soft tone as she stood up. "I'm more fond of you though, Chrissy." The taller girl smiled wider as Christine extended a hand to her, dropping the rubber duck.

"May I have this dance?" asked Christine dramatically as Nicole took her hand, the two of them laughing and dancing their hearts out. At some point Christine picked up the rubber duck again and held it out to Nicole. "You can keep him if you want!"

The taller girl stopped dancing and turned to Christine, taking the toy from her hands and letting out a small hum. "Okay, but I need to figure out a name for him. He's my son now!"

"Our son!" Christine joked as she took a seat back on the blanket, rolling up the sleeves to her sweater. Nicole remained standing for a few more seconds before she took a seat next to Christine.

"Maybe Sir Duck? Or is that too basic?" She pondered as Christine rested her head on her shoulder.

"I think it's perfect!" Christine grinned and slowly started to move her hand back into Nicole's hand. Nicole turned to face her slightly, their faces inches away from each other and grinning as their hands intertwined as she sang softly;

"And you're the number one, who's made this date lots of fun..~"

"That's kind of cheesy, Nicole."

"You still loved it!"

"Only because I'm awfully fond of you!" Christine teased and filled the gap between her and Nicole's faces with a kiss.
