Every night for months, Jose and Jessica continued to see each other.
But as time went on, they longed even more to be together.
The best part was no one suspected a thing.
One evening, when Jose returned from another visit to Jessica, he shut the door, leaned against it with his hand on his heart and slowly slid down.
"Another perfect evening?" Xandra asked.
"Absolutely." He said.
"What is it about this girl that is so different from all the other girls?" April asked.
Jose stood up.
"Everything, my dear. I will explain in song." He said, confidently.
Everyone gathered around him.
He began to sing.
For the way you changed my plans
For being the perfect distraction
For the way you took the idea that I have
Of everything that I wanted to have
And made me see there was something missing, oh yeah
For the ending of my first begin
(Ooh, yeah yeah, ooh, yeah yeah)
And for the rare and unexpected friend
(Ooh, yeah yeah, ooh, yeah yeah)
For the way you're something that I'd never choose
But at the same time, something I don't wanna lose
And never wanna be without ever again
You're the best thing I never knew I needed
So when you were here I had no idea
You the best thing I never knew I needed
So now it's so clear, I need you here always
My accidental happily
(Ever after)
The way you smile and how you comfort me
(With your laughter)
I must admit you were not a part of my book
But now if you open it up and take a look
You're the beginning and the end of every chapter
You're the best thing I never knew I needed, oh
So when you were here I had no idea
You're the best thing I never knew I needed
(That I needed) oh
So now it's so clear, I need you here always
Who knew that I could be
(Who knew that I could be)
So unexpectedly
(So unexpectedly)
Undeniably happier
Sitting with you right here, right here next to me
Girl, you're the best
You're the best thing I never knew I needed
(Said I needed)
So when you were here I had no idea
You're the best thing I never knew I needed
So now it's so clear I need you here always
Now it's so clear, I need you here always
The others were moved by the sincerity and love in Jose's singing.
They could even imagine what he was picturing in his mind as he sang.
He imagined being in another world.
He was with Jessica, in the beautiful city of New Orleans in the 1920s.
Both of them dressed up.
He handed her a bouquet of flowers and they took a walk along the road together hand in hand.
They finally made it to a lovely little restaurant where they enjoy some beignets.
They then took the trolley down to the bayou.
It was an enchanting sight.
Fireflies and the moon reflected off the pond.
The soothing sound of crickets in the background.
The two of them began to dance with each other.
Jose then dipped her, brushed her hair out of her face, gazed into her beautiful hazel eyes.
"You truly are the best thing I never knew I needed." Jose said to her.
"And you for me." Jessica said, smiling.
He then leaned in and kissed her.
She kissed him back.
When he finished, they clapped.
"So, to answer your question, my dear April, everything about her is different from those other women. And since I met her, I haven't even looked at another woman. Because she is the only one I see." He said.
"So, your days of womanizing are over?" May asked.
"Well, I wouldn't say womanizer. I was indeed a charmer of many women. However, this is the woman who is destined to be my bride. I know in my heart that she is. She is the only woman for me." Jose said.
Unfortunately, he had no idea of the trouble they would have in the future.
