First of all, I just wanted to thank you all so much for the 10K reads in this story and all of the votes! For anyone who commented too, a VERY special thank you, you have my heart! But, in any case, I never thought this story would reach this mark so soon, so as a thank you, I've decided to give you this.
So this is basically an AU type thing to my own fic because I love Robb and Dahlia Stark too much and I wish I could've given them a happy ending, but oh well. This is just my imagination and my wishing things could've gone better for the Starks as a whole that could very easily be entitled If I could give (almost) everyone a (fairly) happy ending or, as I like to refer to it If Walder Frey wasn't a little bitch.
Anyway... This is pretty much what I came up with:
So, if the Red Wedding had never happened, Jeyne would still have pretty much confessed that her parents were working with the Lannisters, but, considering she hadn't done anything against Dahlia, she would have been pardoned, so she would still be her lady-in-waiting - and closest friend, really - when they finally made their way back to Winterfell.
In this scenario, Catelyn wouldn't have died - at least not in the Red Wedding since it wasn't a thing - and, at the end, the same Starks from the show would be the ones to have survived, so Sansa, Arya, Bran and Jon. I do like to think Jon would have ended up in the Iron Throne - married to Daenerys or not, that remains to be seen but, either way - it means Robb Stark is King in the North and the Trident while Jon Snow ends up as King in the rest of Westeros - yes, that's pretty much dream scenario for me, but that's the whole idea of this post anyway, deal with it hahaha.
Anyway, as for the future family of Robb and Dahlia Stark, here's what I thought:
Daniel Sharman (but like, with red hair if it makes any sense) as
Eddard "Little Ned" Stark, the River Wolf
Born in 302 A.C., looking much like his father with curly red hair and Tully blue eyes. He was still born at the Twins, but not with his father present since Robb had ridden to Casterly Rock after Roslin and Edmure's wedding as planned. Robb first met him when the boy was a few months old, but sent him away - along with Dahlia, Jeyne and his Mother - to Seagard for a while as he fought some battles. Eventually, Robb decided to take back Winterfell and he did. Little Ned's first time seeing his father's home - his home - happened when he was almost a year old.
Sarah Bolger as
Margaery Stark, the Winter Rose
Born right after the news of the Tyrells demise at King's Landing came to Winterfell in 304 A.C. She had the same dark curly brown hair as her mother, but the clear blue eyes as her father, looking quite a lot like her namesake in spite of not having any bloodties to her, much to Dahlia's amusement and rendering her her nickname of Winter Rose. She was meant to be called Roslin, but as soon as Robb heard of Margaery and Loras' death, he was quick to offer Dahlia the chance of naming their first daughter Margaery and Dahlia was even quicker to accept it.
Annabel Sholey and Caitlin Stasey as
Roslin and Catelyn Stark, the Twins of Winterfell
Robb and Dahlia's identical twin girls - which still made Robb laugh considering it had been a Frey the first woman to ever bring twins into the Stark lineage -, both looking much more like their mother than any of their other children with brown hair and brown eyes. Born after the Long Night and after all of the scabbling for the Throne was over, in 307 A.C. Named after Dahlia's only full-sister and Robb's mother who had, unfortunately, found her demise over the course of the Long Night.
Spencer MacPherson as
Perwyn Stark, the Crossed Wolf
Born after Dahlia suffered a rather traumatic birth of a still born two years before, in 310 A.C., with brown hair and blue eyes much like his sister Margaery. After another quite long and torturous birth, Robb and Dahlia decided not to have any more children at all. Besides, they had achieved the five children they had wanted - even if the ratio of three boys and two girls came in all backwards. He was named after Dahlia's eldest full-brother that gave his life for hers almost 10 years before.
Well, I guess, this is it. I just really wanted to introduce you to the legacy of Robb and Dahlia Stark, if their life could have gone the way I wanted it to hahah.
Also, if anyone shows any interest, I might even do a little sequel to the story, following Jeyne and Little Ed in their journey through the next seasons of the show that this book haven't covered, but I don't promise anything yet. It really just depends on you letting me know you'd want it.
For now, this is all. I hope you have enjoyed this little extra chapter and the story as a whole, please let me know your thoughts. Your feedback is truly what keeps me motivated.
Stay safe,
Lots of love <3
