Hermione's p.o.v.

It was the second of May. A dark day that turned the whole school from a lively place into one of grief and mourning. It was a Sunday and the corridors were eerily silent, the occasional whisper was heard from the younger years but they were silenced with a single glance from an older student. Most people had lost someone in the battle and today it showed more than ever just how much damage had been done that night.

Hermione spent the day locked in her room, she grieved the loss of her parents and Tonks and Remus more than anyone although she didn't want them to see. But for the most part she felt guilty, guilty that she was able to save the man she loved most in this world while everyone else lost someone. She felt like she didn't have the right to grieve while others had suffered greater losses, she hadn't actually lost her parents, it hadn't happened in front of her and they were potentially still alive out there somewhere. The ministry had informed her that they had searched Australia multiple times and there was no trace of them, so either her spell hadn't worked and they had gone elsewhere or they never made it and something terrible happened to them. Hermione didn't want to dwell on the latter idea, but she knew the chances of her seeing her parents again were slim to none.

She could feel the two way mirror in her pocket heat up but she didn't answer it. She didn't want to speak to Fred as much as she knew he'd be able to help. She wanted to be left alone.

Harry's p.o.v.

Harry was in his own state of grief, which was only heightened by Hermione's guilt and grief. He was about to reach the Gryffindor tower when a patronus appeared in front of him.

"Harry, I know you're feeling rubbish today but think about all the people you saved. I know a lot of people died that day, hell I nearly died but if it hadn't been for you a lot more people would have suffered because of Voldemort and the death eaters. You cause more good than you can ever possibly understand because you're so self critical. I need you to go and find Hermione and talk to her, it will make you both feel better. You are both upset and because of your bond it's making you both even more upset. So go and talk to her. Please. For my sake if not for yours."

Fred's patronus disappeared and Harry stood there for a moment before deciding he was right, to a certain extent, and went off to the Head Dorms.

Knowing the password Harry went straight in after waving hello to his parents and godfather, Remus was elsewhere. He looked around the common room to find it empty, no trace of Draco or Hermione.

He went upstairs and knocked on Draco's door, wanting to make sure he was okay before going to check on Hermione. There was no response, he opened the door and his room was empty as well. Harry made a mental note of going to find him later and make sure he was okay.

He turned to Hermione's door and knocked. There was a noise from inside, like he'd scared her with his knock.

"Go away." Was all that followed.

"Not gonna happen, you need to let me in Hermione." Harry responded.

There was a pause, before he heard the shuffling of feet and the door opened. He walked in and found Hermione with red eyes lying on her bed staring at the ceiling. Maybe he hadn't heard feet at all, it didn't look like she'd moved in a while.

Hermione's p.o.v.

Hermione heard Harry sigh and he mumbled something before he came over and sat on his bed.

"I feel like crap and I think it has something to do with your feelings as well as my own." Harry stated.

Hermione sighed and sat up leaning herself against the headboard. Harry shifted over and joined her.
