Hello, I have some good news. My Covid test ended up being negative and I will hopefully be able to go back into school starting tomorrow. Anyways, thank you for 250+ reads and 25+ votes. Here's today's chapter :)

Irina's birthday had been about four days ago and I had given her a card and wished her happy birthday. Now, it is October 14th and she is in a pretty bad mood. The reason for that being that Karasuma hadn't gotten her a present or said 'happy birthday' yet. The class had decided on a plan to get a gift for Miss Bitch that we would give to Karasuma so that he could give it to her. Some of the others were distracting her or on lookout and such, but I am in town with Karma, Nagisa, Kayano, Sugino, Kanzaki, and Okuda because we were assigned to look for a present.

"Right, let's do this." Sugino says as he pulls his phone away from his ear. That must have been Maehara calling to tell us that Kataoka and some of the other girls had succeeded in pulling Professor Bitch away from Karasuma. "What exactly are you supposed to get someone who already has two of everything?" Sugino asks with a frown.

"It's not going to be easy." Kayano says.

"Everybody pitched in. It's not a whole lot but it's better than nothing. Question is, will it be enough to buy a proper grown up gift?" Nagisa questions.

"Hey kids, over here. Everything end up okay with that man? Y'know, the old timer on the bicycle?" A guy working at a florists asks. Huh?

"Oh, you're the flower guy who called the ambulance!" Nagisa exclaims. "He managed to forgive us after a couple of week, yeah. Uh, thanks for helping us out." Nagisa says sheepishly. Oh. Well that makes sense I guess.

"No sweat. I'm glad it wasn't as bad as it looked. Beg pardon, I couldn't help but overhear you're in the market for a grownup gift?" The flower guy questions. He seems nice but he's a bit intrusive.

"Yes. Yes we are." Kanzaki answers.

"Well, what about something like this?" The flower guy asks as he hands a rose to Kanzaki.

"Oh, I get it! A bouquet!" Kayano exclaims.

"In this day and age, we can have whatever we want. But flowers are still the go-to gift of choice. Why do you suppose that is?" The flower guy asks. "It's not just about romance. The color, the shape and scent, the fact that they don't last. Flowers are an ideal metaphor for he human condition." The flower guy says, turning around to face us with a big bouquet of roses.

"Oh my, you're a persuasive salesman sir." Okuda says, clasping her hands together in joy.

"Yes, you do make a point. You have to cherish them while they're still there." I say, looking at all the flowers he has on display.

"Quite the poetic little speech. That calculator part of the symbolism?" Karma asks as the guy bashfully holds up his calculator and rubs the back of his neck.

"Hey, I'm just trying to make a living. So uh, you in? I'll cut you a deal. It's flowery fate." The flower guy says. We all share a glance and end up getting the flowers before walking back.

As we head back, we are careful not to get caught as we sneak back to the school. After that, we go straight to Karasuma to give him the flowers for Irina.

"It's a very nice bouquet of flowers, don't get me wrong. But why me? They'd mean so much more coming from you." Karasuma declines us. He's in the Ministry of Defense, surely he can't be this dense.

"Mr.K, please. Look at it this way, Professor Bitch is a vital asset to the mission. All in a days work, sir, winning over your colleague can only help things, right?" Karma presses. "Just let her think they're from you, cool?"
