Late Night Musings: Your Place

You want to be free
As free as the wind
But the wind is ungrounded
It comes and goes
As fast as the snap
of ones fingers
Just like that

What's our place in the world?
To be the best we can be?
To find love, attain happiness, rise to power, get rich?

What's our purpose in the world?
To better humanity?
To leave a legacy?
To protect our homes and livelihood?

What's my place in the world?
A seemingly abandoned daughter, the extra sibling, seemingly happy and content?

What's my purpose in the world?
To be the best I can be?
To be loved, to be rich, to be powerful?
To be in a place that no one can hurt me anymore?

Like the wind, invisible
Like the wind, mostly silent yet always present
Like the wind, without substance
Like the wind, lonely

Intangible, facade, invisible, doubting.
Just like the wind.
