the parrot squawks up in the trees

copying words and repeating them like an echo

the python slithers, swaying in the breeze

spots and then pounces on a gecko

the ant marches, carrying leaves on its back

birdsong sounds through the fauna

background music for the jaguar to attack

the humid air clings to everything like a sauna

the frogs are colorful but poisonous

the mosquitos swarm seeking blood

a beautiful paradise yet dangerous

beware of the pluff mud

the sunlight filters through the canopy

the river where the dolphins swim

where the sloths sleep in the dappled greenery

man must be careful if he comes on a whim
