Metamorphosing Emotions

my mood goes on
a rollercoaster of emotions
whenever I'm with you
turning, changing, in constant motion

I wake up as serene as a lake
without a ripple on the surface
the trees start to shake
as your words sound

a gentle blue to a violent red
a new feeling surges through my head
fingers twitching wanting to squeeze
jaw clenched, filled with unease

moments later, a laugh sounds
a warm oranges appears
jokes fill the air and it astounds
without a care and no jeers

yet the worst of all
is just around the corner
you sink into your world of self-loathing
dragging me along into the depths of black

a real rollercoaster
with heights and screeching metal
I have never been on
but the one that plays with my feelings
I have been on
enough times
one too many times
I feel nauseous everytime
