"Promises are only as strong as the person who gives them."

The race was filled with almost all of Gotham's citizens. Even Bane himself injected himself with the green fluid attached to his body. Most of Gotham's villains were here...making the blonde feel slightly uneasy about who exactly was managing this whole thing. There weren't any police officers around and if they were they must have been off duty? "How extraordinary is this diamond exactly Selena?"

"It came from some Queen that died years ago given to each heir to her families throne." She waved her hand off causing the blonde stare with worry.

"And how did it land in the hands of whoever's hosting this thing?" Harley stared with worry.

"Someone said some guy stole it after killing off the royal families bloodline after they broke a deal. Its a ring worth 9.2 million." She smiled with joy.

Harley looked around growing slightly worried. Maybe she should have looked into this thing before promising to help her out...

"Yeah I'll cheer you guys on ov—." Harley grabbed the redheads wrist. "You're not backing out if I can't." She argued.

Sudden laughter erupted from the speakers. "Morning to all, after goons of mine mentioned there was no delivery on the laughing gas I had awaited from this family. So I broke out of the asylum and spoke to King Cabloomy myself." Cheers began as he cleared his throat to silence them. Harley's face froze at the realization whom this person was? Bruce did warn her of his escape...

"Now I've got this expensive ass ring. I don't need it so I felt like offering it to you all in my homemade racing course. Use any hidden talents of yours that involve meta human qualities. You'll be shot on the spot." The man cackled. "The fun shall begin now!"

A lever was pulled causing everyone in the front to fall into a pool of acidic chemicals just in front of the blonde. Harley stared at the instant massacre in fear. One movement forward and that could have been her. "Careful Harl?" Pam pulled her back.

"He...killed them all? What for?" She turned to the calm redhead, but Selena grabbed her arm to pull them all the way back. "He's the Joker Harley? He has no reason he just does it to do it." She sighed. "We're gonna run and jump over okay?"

Harley looked over at Selena growing more concern for her sanity? She was to calm about this...over a diamond. "Selena we can't do this? It's not worth it? You said it yourself he's the Joker for all you know he plans to kill whoever even touches that diamond."

"Harley?! For all we know he wants us to think that way? Don't tell me you plan to go back on your promise." Selena argued.

"No way? You can go ahead and deal with your death wish. Harley and I are leaving this thing." Pamela shook her head grabbing the blondes hand as she pulled her to leave.

The blonde looked down refusing to place her life at risk. "So you're just gonna leave me again Harley? If you go...you'll really be dead to me this time." Selena glared.

Harley stared feeling guilt creep up her spine. "Harley don't listen to that? Sometimes you'll have to give on friendships like these..." the redhead tried.

"Sometimes we'll get caught in between two choices...but what happens when neither choice has meaning to it?" It was something her professor mentioned during his lectures.

"Only one participant is allowed to leave the race within ten seconds." The sinister mans voice echoed. "Otherwise the three of you will all have a bullet to the head."
