Chapter 11: Him and I

-Shuichi POV-

A yawn escaped my mouth as my eyes opened to see the ceiling. In my peripheral vision, I could see Kokichi sleeping next to me. I smiled slightly.

After what happened yesterday, I'm not sure how to talk to him. I mean how could I even face him after that? But still, here I am. Sleeping right next to him.

Kokichi was surprisingly a light sleeper and he didn't get enough sleep ever. I decided not to wake him up.

I lay in bed, thinking about how I only burdened Kokichi. I should've been quieter. If only I wasn't so dumb to cut in the storage room, I had other options.

It's disgusting. It's absolutely awful. The dark red streaks across my wrists. The scars and the fresh ones. It's fucking vile. Why did I even do this. It's not worth it at all.

I heard shallow breathing behind me, as if Kokichi had woken up already.

"Shuichi it's okay" He comforted me, as if he knew exactly what I was thinking

"You're not mad?" I asked shyly

"Of course not idiot, why would I be?" He gave a giggle

"Well because-" I started

"That was a rhetorical question, no answer needed" He interrupted me

"Why are you up so early?" I turned around

"I knew that you were up so why would I leave you alone?" He sighed

"Good point I guess, what time is it?" I asked

"Well, it's about 6 am?" His eyes darted to  the clock on his wall

"That's pretty early, what do we even do at this hour?" I rubbed my eyes

He muttered something.

I gave him a questioning look.

"Just pretend you didn't hear me" He gave a small smile

"Um alright, do you wanna make breakfast?" I asked

"Sure" He said

"Wait do you remember what I gave you?" I mumbled

"Yep! Here you go" He tossed the small linen bag over to me

"You kept it in your pocket, the whole time?" I said in shock

"Yeah" He looked away quietly

"Why?" I asked

"Well, I got the feeling that this was important to you" He grinned

"Oh" My expression changed to a smile

"Haha, anyway! We need to go make breakfast, Kirumi always makes it and I feel kinda guilty for how we take her for granted" He changed the topic and dragged me out of his dorm.

Guilty? Kokichi feels guilty. Is that a lie? No, why would he lie about that? He always has reasons for his lies. He seems to care about Kirumi. A lot.

He brought me to the kitchen and started getting ingredients.

"Wait you know how to cook?" I asked

"Well what do you think Mr Detective?" He avoided my question

"..." I kept bringing some much needed ingredients out of the fridge, flustered

"Jeez" He sighed and continued talking

"Okay today we'll cook some English and Japanese cuisine!" He exclaimed

"Alright then" I agreed

"So, what do you want to cook?" He asked

"Well, I want to do the Japanese part of the cuisine" I said, looking up at him

"Okay! You do know how to cook right?" He copied me

"Well you'll have to wait and see" I gave a chuckle, he smiled at me

He started making pancakes. He moved swiftly, cooking multiple dishes with ease. He was really elegant and calm. By the time he was finished, I was struggling with cutting lotus root.

"Hey, let me show you!" He held my right hand and started pushing on the knife

"Jeez, this knife is dull, here's a new one" He handed me a better knife and it cut with ease

He kept helping me and in just a few minutes, we were done. His hair was up in a ponytail and it kept swaying gently due to his movements. I giggled slightly at how graceful he looked.

"Well we're done! So do you still think I can't cook?" He sassed

"Good morning!" Tsumugi came into the kitchen and looked at us in awe

"G-good morning Tsumugi" I greeted awkwardly

"You made all of that?!" She gasped and hugged me

"Yeah Shuichi made all of this! He is so much better at cooking than me" Kokichi praised

"You l-" I tried to speak but I got interrupted

"Breakfast is ready!" Tsumugi shouted and started bringing out the food, Kirumi helped and Kokichi just went out into the dinning hall

"Thank you" Kirumi whispered

I came out into the dinning hall and everyone was already there. When I walked in, I immediately noticed someone missing. Ryoma? Well he's probably in his room. He does this sometimes, when he just leaves and stays in his room or lab. I shouldn't worry too much.

"Speak of the devil, look who's here!" Tsumugi said excitedly

"Yeah, Shuichi, you did a great job at cooking!" Angie said

"Nyehh, Shuichi that was really good" Himiko gave a lazy smile

"Himiko! Well, if Himiko says so then, it was really good" Tenko said begrudgingly

"Shuichi, the food was so good" Gonta happily scarfed down another pancake

"Hey bro, the food was amazing! Are you a chef?!" Kaito chimed in

"Haha, I'm not a chef, I barely know how to cook, it was all-" I shyly took a seat beside Kokichi

"Non non, Shuichi is just shy, I actually saw how he cooked all of this" Kokichi intersected

"This was actually really good, Shuichi" Kirumi slightly smiled

"Now that we've got the chef's opinion, you know that this IS really good bro!" Kaito agreed

"Jeez, you guys are getting all mushy mushy, I'm gonna go then!" Kokichi waltzed out of the room, leaving something in my hand

I pocketed the item.

"Hey Kokichi! Get back here" I yelled and hurried out of the room into my dorm

Kokichi hurried in my dorm with me.

"You got overwhelmed didn't you?" He asked softly

"Well you lied about me making everything..." My face flushed with embarrassment

"Nevermind that, you don't like attention do you?" He sighed

"Yes" I sighed as well

"Okay I get that, but we have Himiko's magic show to attend, do you think you're calm enough to go?" He asked

"Y-yeah I think, I just freaked out a bit" I sat down next to him on my bed

"It's okay" He smiled

"Thank you Kokichi, you're too nice to me" I blushed and looked away

"Hey, I'm not nice at all, I'm an evil supreme leader!" He giggled

"Sure sure" I rolled my eyes

We both chuckled for a bit and I kept looking into his eyes. It seemed a bit creepy but he's so damn adorable. He's just, so pretty. He's like an amethyst, so rare and unique. He's so-
