THE FIRST MEMORY, THE PICNIC.

Popping a mango piece into her mouth, the twenty one year old girl eyed the boy who lay beside her warily. With a lousy job as a newspaper editor, two cats and three best friends— his only friends, who always commented on how boring he was over the phone, Renjun had no reason to be smiling at the small device in his hand.

Or so, that's what Haeun believed.

Perhaps he had found himself a girl, she wondered, although dismissed the thought as quickly as it had came with a snort. Only when pigs fly, would Renjun ever be interested in a girl. He thought he was slick, but she already knew who he had eyes for.

Nonetheless, she couldn't help but tease him.

"Dude, you're totally cheating on me right now, aren't you?" And just like her brother, Haeun was as dramatic as ever, if not more. She grabbed her water bottle and poured the liquid on her hand, only to throw it on her face so it looked like she was crying.

"I'd honestly slap you but shit, that would take so much effort." The blonde didn't spare her a glance as he spoke, simply grabbing a neglected chip off the ground and returning to whatever he was busy with on his phone.

Haeun chuckled, closing her eyes and laying her head on his leg. She loved this.

The winter sun felt nice, and the small group of friends couldn't have chosen a better day to have a picnic.

"The man of your dreams has arrived, peasants, victorious as expected." Lee Donghyuck looked hot right at that moment, thought Renjun, and he would've asked Haeun if he was damaged in the head for thinking such on a daily basis, or if she could see it too, had she not had a boyfriend of her own, and had the pretty male not been her brother.

Jaemin arrived seconds after Donghyuck, as tired and sweaty as him from their one on one game of football. He sat down on the blanket and grabbed himself a juice box from their picnic basket.

"You cheated, Haechan." The brunette simply stated, and Renjun chose that as his cue to look up at the boy who stood next to him once again, except this time it wasn't to admire his features.

"Of course he did, you suck at football." He pointed. Donghyuck glared at him, telling him to return to reading his book before he choked him with his foot, given he was standing and Renjun was lying down. Renjun gladly obliged as he laughed at the younger.

Jaemin eyed his quiet girlfriend, raising a single brow at her when they made eye contact.

"You good?" He asked her, to which she immediately nodded, because she was. Haeun was just lost in the moment, she couldn't help but appreciate the people that she had right in front of her.

Jaemin leaned over and placed a light kiss on her nose, smiling before standing up and bolting after Donghyuck who had just kicked him in the back for no reason. Those two had so much energy.

And as she lay her head on Renjun's leg once again, smelling the fresh air of the park, Haeun felt satisfied. She was happy.
