When you give up on fighting them

Joseph: (Spoiler for one of the endings, the one where you "resist")

You gave up on it all when the nuke fell and you were both in the bunker. Everything you fought for was for nothing, the people you killed was for nothing, all your hopes and dreams gone. What was the point of living on? Joseph stared at you a lot as you just sat curled up against the bed but he never spoke or did anything, just watched, but you didn't care. When he held a spoon with food to you, half the can for him and the other half for you, both needing to be careful with the food supplies for however long you will both be stuck here. But you didn't open your mouth, just looked away and stared at nothing. He would just shut the can lid and keep it to try an hour or two later again. When you cried, he watched or would sit aside you and rub your back, whispering God and he have forgiven you, about how beautiful the new world will be, how you can have new dreams there. Eventually he uncuffed you, having realized quickly you are no danger to him, but he kept an eye on you because he wasn't sure if you were a danger to yourself or not. You mostly just laid on the bed or stared at the fish tank. He began telling you more and more about how what you did was needed to get you two here, that it was all planned out, that he will keep you on the right path in the new world. He found a notebook and gave it to you, thinking maybe writing down your thoughts might help you. And it did, somewhat. Whenever you wrote a note, he would read it, curious to see what's going on inside your head and if he can do something about it. When the notebook was empty, you just began writing on the walls. He didn't care, wasn't as if it was a pretty bunker or a place he was gonna stay in forever, just temporary until you two can leave. When he woke up to see a note with you apologizing for everything you did and how you are thankful for him, he couldn't help but smile. When he saw you that morning, he pet your hair before giving your temple a kiss, saying he's certain you are on the right path now and he will keep you safe and guide you till the end of time. When he saw a new note, admitting you are ashamed of what you did and wish for a mask so nobody will recognize you when you enter the new world, can enter it as a new person, a better one. He made a mental note in his head that once you two can go outside into the new world, that that is the first thing he will do.

John:

He wasn't gonna lie, he didn't like it just because it was finally starting to get fun and exciting around here, but now it's all boring again. When you were caught, he was excited, finally some fun again, only to frown as you looked so empty and just shrugged when he asked something. He stared before leaning down to you to be closer, asking you what's with you, groaning out that this is no fun if you don't react and just sit there. When you sighed, he frowned before sarcastically asking in a mutter if he even has to strap you down. When you said you just gave up on trying to stop them, he froze before eyeing you, as if thinking you are lying before he asked why. When you shrugged, he narrowed his eyes before telling you to wait and hurried away. He called Joseph because he didn't have a clue what to do, asking him what he has to do with you and if Faith blissed you too much before you came here or something. Joseph told him to wait as he will come. So John stayed with you in the room, awkwardly trying to start a conversation but you didn't really talk back so it always just ended with awkward silence and him mumbling an okay and then staring at the ground, beating his mind to try and come up with something good. When Joseph arrived, he was so happy because now this awkward silence and trying to start a conversation can stop and Joseph can tell him what the hell is going on with you and what he has to do. As Joseph talked to you, it ended with Joseph telling John to just baptize you. When you said you gave up on trying to kill them, not on not wanting to join their cult, Joseph added for John to help you get onto the right path and show you how many lost souls they have helped. So John baptized you then showed you around places they took over, introducing you to some people who had also given up but now found their "purpose".

Jacob:

He didn't really care much, thought of it as some joke or a way to make him drop his guard so you can suddenly storm in and catch him off-guard. He finally doesn't have to worry about you destroying all his places or even trying to kill him. When he saw you again, he realized this really was no joke and you actually gave up. Your eyes held no determination, you weren't rushing around to help everyone, you didn't even have your usual weapons on you, just a pistol for self-defense, and he even wondered if you would use it if someone tried to attack you. As you looked at him, he was curious what you would do, if you would pull out your pistol and shoot him. But you just nod a hello then walked away making him stare, shocked that actually happened before he knew he had to contact Joseph and tell him about this, as he knew this was the right time for Joseph to do whatever weird plan he has for you. Even though you stopped and gave up on attacking the peggies and trying to stop them, he still kept a close eye on you. Joseph told him to order his men not to attack you anymore so Jacob did it, a bit grumpy about it as he still doesn't entirely believe it. You did so much and now just give up? That didn't make much sense to him, but when he sees you, he really doesn't see a fighter in you anymore, just a tired person who gave up and wants to live in peace now.

Faith:

When she saw you just exploring some abandoned cabin, in need of supplies to survive the next few days, she walked over. She was curious, you didn't look like your usual self, you looked as if your goal changed. As she was close, she greeted you. She watched you glance to her and greet her back before returning to exploring. She frowned, confused, then asked you what you are doing. As you told her you are searching for food and some new clothes, she hummed. That wasn't weird, she seen you do it a few times before, but you acted different less defensive, not even dropping one hand to hover it over your pistol with your guard-on. So she asked you if something changed in your life. As you shrugged and said just gave up on this whole cult stuff and trying to kill them, she stared, unsure what to think about this. She slowly hummed before saying she has to go and hurried away. She contacted her brothers the second she could, asking them what's wrong with the Deputy. Joseph told her to continue being around you so Faith did. Every now and then visiting. The first few times assuring you she means no harm, to which you shrugged and said you really don't care anymore what her intentions are. She tried a few times to say stuff like that people can be found and not lost anymore when they join her and let her help, but even though you gave up, you still weren't gonna join some insane cult so declined her each time. A few times she clenched her fists, annoyed and having hoped you having given up would make it easier to convince you but it made no difference.
