Grace found herself treading the very short path to the district after her first day at her new school the next day, she was happy about how it went, everyone already loves her and she loves them. It's a lot different to her old school, she has to wear a uniform now but she likes it and the whole class is friendly with each other, there isn't a particular group of students who are popular or anything. She strolled through the reception of the district as trudy flashed her a welcoming smile, "look who's feeling better, I'm glad your back G" she smiled. Grace smiled back, "thanks aunt trudy" she nodded as she was buzzed up.

Kevin looked up at the sight of legs walking towards his desk, "look who it is, my number one partner" he smiled and gave her a fist pump like he always does. She smiled back and looked around at everyone's smiling faces, "hey" she waved at them all. Hank walked out of his office, "back so soon? I was getting used to the quietness around here" he joked around but pulled her into a loving hug. Grace smiled, "well I'm back so it's gonna get noisy again" she laughed, something about this whole ordeal has brought her out of her shell and she's no longer shy with anyone, she's a full extrovert now. Jay smiled, "how was school?" He smirked. Grace turned to face him, "good actually" she put her chin in the air and leant on Haileys desk. Jay nodded, "really? So how many friends so far?" He smiled.

Grace shrugged, "oh I don't know, maybe like 25 or something..." she smirked then walked into the break room. Hailey smiled at jay, "told you she'd fit right in" she nodded, it was Haileys idea about sending grace to a new school. Jay smiled, "thank you" he mouthed before they were left with no choice but to crack on with their work. They still had a case to solve but at least grace was back to lift their spirits up after a tough day, she'll always hold a special place in their hearts.

After an hour or two of doing nothing, Grace was pretty bored, but she didn't want her brother to occupy her or any of the detectives out there, she wanted to spend some time with Hank... So she put her phone down and wandered out into the bullpen, she stared into voights office to see him sat there on his own, not really doing much.  The whole team looked up at her and furrowed their brows, what is she doing?

She sighed weakly and decided to enter his office, "what can I do for you?" Hank huffed without looking up at whoever was there, "I'm not too sure about that one" Grace smiled and sat down on the couch opposite his desk.  Hank looked up at the sound of her voice and smiled, "bored?" He nodded and sat back in his chair.  She smiled and nodded in return.  Outside in the bullpen, jay shot hailey a confused glare.

After about 10 minutes, Hank and Grace walked out of his office, "we're going for a drive, crack on with the paperwork" hank shrugged and looked around before smiling at Grace as she reappeared from grabbing her jacket and her phone, "where to?" Jay sat up. Hank shrugged, "somewhere sweet" he smiled. Grace let out a mischievous laugh as the pair trudged down the stairs, "I don't even wanna know" jay sighed and shrugged.

An ice cream store is where the Sargent and the teenager found themselves sat, so it really is somewhere sweet, for someone with a sweet tooth of course. Hank laughed as Grace took her first bite of ice cream, "so, how's the new school treating you?" He smiled. She looked up and smiled at him, "a lot better, the kids are nicer too" she nodded positively. He smiled and took a spoonful of his own treat, "you'll still tell me if anyone bothers you though, right?" He raised his eyebrows. She smiled and nodded, "always" she sighed contently. He nodded, "good" he laughed as she messily ate her mint choc chip ice cream.
