I was thinking racially about maybe calling Patrick, but I figured he might've been busy. I decided to maybe get my mind off him & worry about what I was going to do today. I put on my black silk dress and decided to keep my hair out. I then added my sliver butterfly bracelet that my grandma had gave me the night before she passed. I used it as a good luck charm. I wasn't feeling like putting on makeup today, I was upset about last night a little. I put on my heels & locked my door & went out into the big noisy city, Manhattan.

I decided to go to my favorite coffee bar right around the corner from where I lived, it was called "Mia's Lounge". Back then, my homegirls & I would always go here every morning & catch up with each other about our lives, but we all lost in touch with each other after two years in college.

I went in there and waved at my friend Bryan, who's gay. "Hey girly, haven't seen you in awhile! What's up?"
"Ugh, I know. I've been doing me.", I responded.
"Y/N, what's going on? Something's off about you today.", he asked.
"I'm so ready to leave Daniel, 'B'. I'm not interested in him anymore. Actually, I don't think I ever was. I feel like I was forced into being with him by my family.", I told Bryan.
"Sis, then leave! What's stopping you? I always thought you were way too pretty for him anyways."
"What's stopping me is my parents, y'know I don't wanna disappoint them."
"Parents? You're a full grown adult living in your own roof, this is your life, not theirs."
"You're right.", I sighed.
Bryan smiled, "Let me get you you're favorite drink and we'll talk some more."
I smiled back. Bryan has always been real to me. Wished there was more people like him in the world.

As I waited for my drink, I looked around my surroundings, I felt eager too. As 5 minutes went by my drink was handed to me. I took a sip & as always, scrumptious.

"So, anything new lately?", Bryan asked me
"Well, I met this guy named Patrick last night. He's so fine.", I said while biting my lips softly. Bryan of coursed tilted his head to his left and made a "Okurrr" face. "Go get em tiger!", he exclaimed.
"Maybe, I'm just not to- GASPS", I wasn't able to finish my sentence because a hand was placed on my shoulder, I looked behind me hoping it wasn't Daniel surprising me.

   "PATRICK?" I yelled.
"Sorry, didn't mean to frighten you there."
"No, no, it's okay I just wasn't expecting you to be here."
"Oh yes, I come here every morning."
Bryan made a face, a face that someone would make when something sounds unfamiliar. "Oh well it's nice seeing you here. How are you?"
"I'm fine. Can I get a medium cup coffee, vanilla creame, mild sugar.", Patrick ordered
He seemed like a straightforward guy, someone not to mess with. He was obviously about his business.
