Dream hadn't willingly been avoiding George.
On Sunday night, a familiar face decided to bless Dream with their presence during his precious late night smoke session.
Looking back on it, the conversation had been quite the awkward one. Aidan found him—Dream doesn't even know how, and he probably doesn't want to—outside his dorm building, dab pen in hand.
"Dream," Aidan says, startling the blonde. Dream doesn't give any signs of being jumpscared, though, as he only turns slowly to meet the angry blue eyes.
"Aidan," Dream greets him in the same way, though with much more awkwardness as he doesn't know what to say, or what Aidan is doing here.
"I came here for one thing," Aidan says, pausing as if that'll give him some sort of dramatic effect. It only annoys Dream. "You need to stay away from my boyfriend. I've seen the way you look at him and the way you always hang around him."
Dream narrows his eyes and crosses his arms. "With all due respect, I'm not trying to get with your man. You don't have anything to worry about."
Aidan lets out a mocking laugh. "You really think I'm going to believe that? Listen, you're going to stay away from George or I will make sure your life is a living hell."
Now it's Dream's turn to laugh. "It's funny that you think you can affect my life in any way."
"I can," Aidan shoots back. He gives Dream a mean look and turns around. "Stay away from him, or you won't like the consequences."
Even remembering the interaction has Dream rolling his eyes. Still, he obeyed Aidan's wishes, and it proved to not be as difficult as he thought it would be. George hadn't tried to talk to him all week, he didn't even show up to lunch with the group, so Dream found it easy to ignore him. He simply acts as he did before.
On Friday, though, George had finally had enough of Dream's silence and chased after him after class. It made Dream feel slightly relieved that George was clearly not threatened into silence or something, so he decided to let himself talk to George. The conversation only had him seeing more red flags from George's boyfriend, yet he continuously reminds himself that it isn't his business. Still, he can't help but want to intervene.
Now, Dream finds himself on his way to yet another party, one that Sapnap is obviously dragging him to. He wonders if George will be there. If Aidan has any say in it, the blonde figures he will be.
Sapnap picks Dream's outfit once again, choosing to put him in a white turtleneck and baggy brown pants along with his signature chain necklace, black belt, and Converse.
The two of them make their way to the party, and once again split up as soon as they arrive. This time, Dream goes straight to the kitchen to get a snack. He goes to the drinks but doesn't feel like he's in the mood for getting drunk, so he decides to just grab a White Claw.
Dream weaves his way through the crowd until he finds Karl, who is hanging around Skeppy and Fundy.
"Hey Dream!" Karl says, already seeming intoxicated.
"Dream!" Fundy echos, bringing the blonde into a drunken hug.
"Chill guys, it's just me," Dream says with a laugh, not knowing why they're so excited to see him.
"Does that mean Sapnap's here?" Karl asks, and Dream nods.
"Obviously," Dream says. "Why do you care anyways?"
He knows the answer, it's obvious by now that Karl has a thing for Sapnap, but he wants to hear it from his mouth. Karl simply scoffs and crosses his arms. "I don't care, I was just asking. I'm going to the bathroom."
