Three days later
Emma allowed Bucky to come see Harper's volleyball game. He came alone and sat away from Emma and Vincenzo. When it was over he walked over to where they were with her.
"Great game Harper." He said
"Oh you are here." Harper said
"I told him. The judge said it was okay that he came to your games." Emma said
Harper just rolled her eyes and went to go change. "We usually go to for ice cream after her game. Do you want to join us?" Vincenzo said
"Yeah Buck you are more than welcome to join us. So we can talk about nothing again." Harper said
"Harper.." Emma said in a hushed stern tone.
Bucky just shook his head and walked off. "Buck.." Emma said as she followed him out.
He just ignored her as he walked to his car. He went over to his parents house to join them for dinner.
"How was the visit and her game?" Winnie said as she sat down.
"Besides the fact that she hates me. Emma told her the truth about why I haven't been around and she has an attitude mix of you and Emma it's going real well." Bucky said
James let out a chuckle.
"Dad it's not funny." Bucky said
"I'm just laughing cause she looks a lot like your mother and now she has her attitude god help us all." James said as he lowered the paper he was reading.
"It will get better James. She just needs to adjust and you two need to find something to talk about..she plays sports that should be easy." Winnie said
"I thought so too. Until Emma ruined that for me.." he said as he continued to eat his food.
He stayed a little longer and had dessert before heading home. Winnie was quiet after he left as she did the dishes. James joined her "What's wrong?"
"I'm scared James. He's not himself and I'm scared that he could relapse again and it will be to late." Winnie said as she dried her hands.
"He will get better we just have to give him time." James said as he hugged her.
