The next night
Bucky was watching Sportscenter alone, Harper had holed herself up in her room since he broke the news. Winnie came by with a dress and shoes for Harper to wear to the funeral. He heard movement upstairs but assumed she was going to the bathroom again.
Harper appeared wrapped up in a blanket and laid her head down on Bucky's lap. "Your grandma came by she brought you a dress and shoes. Your mom called and said that she loves you and she'll see you tomorrow." He said
"Okay.." she said in a whisper
"Are you hungry? Cause I can go get you something? Nothing is delivering now on door dash." He said
She sat up and laid her head on his shoulder. "Just sit with me..daddy." She whispered
If she hadn't been laying on him he would have let out the sigh of relief to finally hear her call him that. But it damn near broke him to tears. He wrapped his arm around her and rubbed her side.
"Okay little darlin." He whispered as he turned up the tv.
The next day they had the funeral Bucky didn't just drop off Harper he stayed and held her hand. Emma was a complete disaster as her dad held her. They said their final goodbyes the kids said goodbye before they lowered the casket.
Everyone went to Emma's house afterwards for mingling food and expressing condolscences. Harper stayed with Bucky another night while Emma had more stuff to take care of with her mother in law.
At the will reading Vincenzo had left her with both houses. The one that was her wedding present their holiday home in Italy and the one they lived in. She began to cry as she tried to give the keys to the Italy home to her mother in law.
"Honey no, he built that for you. It's yours to keep sweetheart I know this is hard to take in but that is your house. My son loved you more than anything in the world you and Harper so keep that house. Make more memories in it my darling girl." She said to Emma as she held her face.
Emma cried after she was done at the lawyer's office. Melisandre and her husband were worried that Emma may never get over the lost of Vincenzo.
