Chapter 3: The Prophecy

Back up in the ice age world, the herd got out of the cave as Manny and Ellie pushed the logs and trees that had fallen across the cave

They walked out of the cave towards the cliff as they looked across the valley or at least what it used to be the valley

Glowing, purple, gigantic holes in the earth were a clear sign of how big the meteors were, they were everywhere, it was a complete mess

Suddenly, a roaring sound came from the North of them as they all turned their heads towards the purple light coming from the earth that was illuminated by smoke and steam

The herd walked towards the sound as Manny stepped forward and looked down

"Uh... Hello?" Manny called out as his voice echoed throughout the hole, for a moment there was silence, then a shadow appeared and the roaring became louder

Manny screamed as he jumped back and stood next to Ellie, the shadow continued to move like someone was trying to climb up through the hole

The roaring turned into what sounded like deep, angry grunts

Sid yelled and clambered onto Diego and Manny wrapped his trunk around Ellie as he pulled her close

Kai stood in front of Noa as Noa peeked over Kai's shoulder

The shadow came closer and closer, until finally...

"(Grunted) Oh! Hello, mammals" Buck greeted happily as he appeared from the edge of the hole while holding something up by a vine as his knife was dug into the earth

Everyone sighed of relief as Noa, Kai, Min and Shira had a confusion expression on their faces

"Hi, Buck!" Crash greeted as he waved while Buck struggled to stand up with the vine

"Hi-" Buck started as he let go of the knife to wave, only to get pulled back into the hole with high speed while screaming

"Bye, Buck!" Eddie waved as the vine swung up and hooked around Buck's knife handle

"Um, a little help" Buck called as Manny grabbed the knife as he struggled to pull it out, he yanked hard enough that whatever was attached to the vine came flying up with a screaming Buck

A large pillar landed in the snow and Buck smashed onto the top, then he fell to the ground while groaning as he got up as he twisted his long body

"Right on the spleen! Utterly useless, but totally hurst" Buck said as he poked the organ that seemed to be sticking out while the herd walked towards the weasel

""Hey, Buck. Welcome back, buddy" Diego smiled

"Wait. This half-a-snack is the dinosaur whisperer?" Shira asked as Buck skittered over to her and grabbed her paw

"And expert salsa dancer" Buck added as he did a little dance with Shira's paw

"I have one eye but all my original teeth. Would you like to count them? Ah..." Buck asked as he opened his mouth wide while Shira's ears flattered

"No, thank you" Shira said quickly as she leaned away from the weasel while Diego just grinned

Buck closed his mouth and walked over to the three humans

"Hey, I've never seen mammals like you before. So tell me, who are you?" Buck asked with great interest

"We're humans" Min replied

"I'm Noa, this is my boyfriend, Kai and this is Min" Noa introduced themselves

"Well, I am deeply honored" Buck said as he kissed Noa's hand as Noa giggled
