Chapter 9: A Beautiful Wedding

"Are you sure you can't come with us?" Sid asked the elderly Brooke

"Oh, Sidney, I wish I could. But we know this is for the best. You've got your whole life in front of you. Besides, I'll have Granny to keep me company" Brooke replied as Sid gasped and jumped on his feet

"You're staying too?" Sid asked Granny

"Are you kidding? This place is great! Tonight's the big talent show and tomorrow, naked bingo!" Granny replied as the entire herd cringed

"You coming, Gladys? I ain't getting any younger! Whoo!" The bunny shouted

"What? I can't hear you Granny shouted

"What? I can't hear you!" The bunny shouted back

"What? I can't hear you!" Granny shouted as they continued

"You'll always be my one true love. Here" Brooke said as she gave Sid an engraved crystal portrait of herself for him to remember her

"Wow! Hold on" Sid replied as he turned back for a moment and then turned back to present Brooke the same thing, only his portrait was scrawled and lopsided as Brooke giggled

"It looks just like you" Brooke said

"Now we'll be with each other forever" Sid said as the two exchanged the crystals and Brooke kissed Sid's cheek

Sid walked back to the herd as he looked back over his shoulder once more

"So long, handsome!" Brooke waved

"Bye, Sidney!" Granny called as she waved with her cane

Sid had a sad expression on his face as Noa came over and placed her hand on Sid's shoulder for comfort while Manny did the same with his trunk

Sid held Noa's hand like a child to his mother as they all walked home, leaving Sid's heart behind

Sid felt melancholy all the way back home as Noa felt sorry for him

"You ok?" Kai asked

"I just feel sorry for Uncle Sid, he finally found his love and he had to leave her behind" Noa replied

"At least he found what he was seeking for" Kai smiled as he wrapped his arm around her

Hours and hours of preparation and annoyance later, a wedding was minutes way from taking place

Sid had performed a miracle and had somehow got all the flowers and decorations up in a record time, thanks to the hyraxes

All the guests were assembled as they waited for their bride's arrival

Even Marco, Leah, Victor, Nathan and Ryan were there

Everyone was chatting and blabbering about everything while they were waiting for Peaches

"Where's the bride? Why don't I have the bride?" Sid asked frustrated as he held a twig against his ear

"'Cause you're talking into a twig" Diego replied as Sid waddled away

"Um, excuse me"

Diego and Shira turned to two kids that approached them, which they were surprised at

"Is it true you helped save the world from an asteroid?" The girl asked as Diego and Shira looked at each other

"Um..." Diego started as they both smiled

"That's a very scary story. You think you can handle it?" Shira asked with a smirk

"Yeah" the children replied in chorus

"How scary?" The girl asked

"Well, we were-" Diego started as the two children suddenly sat closer

"It was five minutes to midnight and we were up against volcanoes, dino-birds and the end of the world" Diego said

"Oh and the zombies! Don't forget the zombies!" Shira added as she made the children laugh and then turned to her mate

"You know, we'd be great parents" Shira said

Soon, everyone was silent as the service started

Noa looked behind her as she smiled warmly, she was so proud of her best friend and that she had picked the right man. Noa winked at her as Peaches smiled at her best friend and passes by with Manny and Ellie

Noa smiled as Manny and Ellie handed their daughter over to Julian's awaiting trunk as they turned to the minister hyrax as he babbled off a few words in Gibberish

"I do" Peaches replied happily as the hyrax turned to Julian and repeated his words

"Most def" Julian replied excitedly as the hyrax finished with a few more words and then the crowd applauded as the two mammoths embraced

The celebration went into full dance mode as it soon was interrupted by a voice on the stage

"Excuse me all!" A British female voice announced

"This is dedicated to the sloth of my dreams"

Noa looked up in surprise to see Brooke, younger and more gorgeous than ever

Everyone plus the guests went absolutely crazy. It was a time of joyous laughter, living life and loving each other

At one point, Noa and Kai sat back on the sidelines as Noa's head was resting on her boyfriend's shoulder yet she was still feeling upset Kai didn't asked her

She wasn't asking for him to do it, she just thought he didn't love her enough to marry her and that he simply wanted to be girlfriend and boyfriend forever

"Noa?" Kai asked as Noa's head bolted to look at him

"You ok?" Kai asked

"Yeah, I'm fine, I'm just all scrambled from all the dancing" Noa lied

"Really? 'Cause I ain't scrambled" Kai smirked as Noa giggled while Manny and Sid were arguing about Sid's new inventions
