George POV.

Why the fuck did I even like that self-centred, obnoxious, stupid blond asshole in the first place? I asked myself as I paced back and forth in the elevator as it descended to the ground floor.

All he ever did was treat me like I was his property and I was sick of it. I just want to go back to my dorm at the academy, maybe I could get kicked out sometime before the end of the month and be home to celebrate my father's birthday, not that he'd actually want me there though.

But now that Clay knew about my family I didn't want to be around him at all. He could tell everyone and then I'd be hated, agreeing to come to this dumb school in the us was a dumb idea in the first place.

The elevator doors opened and I ran out into the large entrance of the building before heading into the cold air of the early evening. I didn't have my phone on me, or any money, it was all back at Clay's house and I wouldn't go back there even if he paid me so I couldn't get a taxi or something.

Without a second thought I just started walking. The school was probably a good hour or so away from here but I didn't care. As I walked along the busy street in the middle of the city I couldn't help but feel like Clay was still watching me from his office, but I ignored it.

After an hour and a half of walking I made it back to the school and into my dorm, I barely even had time to get changed out of the clothes I'd been wearing since yesterday when there was a knock on the door.

With a loud sigh I returned to the door and opened it, only to see Darryl waiting in the hallway.
"Hey Darryl."
"George... Thank god you are okay, Clay called and he sounded really, really worried."
Oh, Clay called. That asshole couldn't even leave me alone, probably wanted to make fun of me since I used to have a crush on him.

"What else did Clay say?" I asked with gritted teeth, knowing that possessive asshole he probably told Darryl to keep me here so he could come back and kidnap me again.
"He just wanted me to make sure you were okay," Darryl said.

"I am fine, you can tell him that yourself. It's just that Clay is a mega asshole, and he's selfish and insensitive and obnoxious and he fucking kidnapped me!!!"
Darryl didn't say 'language' but he nodded as I spoke.

Once I was done ranting about the blond dickhead, Darryl turned and left, I felt kind of bad at how harsh I sounded but shut the door instead.

Clay POV.

My eyes stayed focused on the window as I watched George walking down the street. As he disappeared in a crowd of people I turned away from the window and sighed.

I began to pace back and forth in my office, occasionally looking out of the window again to see if George was still in sight but he wasn't.

It was obvious that I went too far, I shouldn't have freaked out. Honestly, thinking he was being part of a mafia was probably the dumbest thing I ever did. And a lie detector? Why should I have done that?

I should have just trusted him enough to ask him. With a loud sigh I picked up my phone and called Darryl. He answered after a few rings with a 'hello Clay.'
"Hey Darryl... Has George gotten back to the dorms yet?"
"I thought he was staying with you for the week? Why is he coming back to the school dorms?"

"Well I kind of fucked up and ruined any chances I had with him. He obviously ran off because he hates me now."
Darryl listened to what I said, "look, firstly; language. Secondly; I'll go check on him when he does."
"Thanks Darryl."

I hung up the phone and went back to pacing the room, thinking to myself as I did so.
It was obvious the Brit was mad at me, and so I should do something to make it up to him. Usually, in any other situation I would take the person out on a date, but clearly George didn't want to see me so maybe I should just get him a gift.

I walked over to the desk and grabbed the phone which connected to the rest of the building. Quickly I dialled my receptionist and told her to come upstairs.

My receptionist, Carrol Jade came into the room a few minutes later, she was wearing a lilac dress shirt which was clearly tighter than it needed to be. "You called for me Mr Smith," she spoke with an annoying voice. "I noticed that your friend just left, is everything okay?"

She rested her hand on the side of my arm and I immediately shrugged it off and sent her a glare. "Look, I just need you to cancel my afternoon appointments and organise me a trip to the mall so I can buy him a gift."
"A gift?"
I gave her a nod, "yes. I was a dick to him and want to get him a gift to try and make it up to him."

Carrol gave a small frown but nodded back, "I can have you ready to go at 3pm."
I gave her a slight growl, "make it earlier than that."
Her eyes widened at my tone but she gave a yes as she left.

I went back to pacing the room, hoping that I could find something for George. Eventually I managed to calm down and sit at my desk. Just as I was about to start checking my emails my phone rang again.

As I looked at the caller ID I saw it was Darryl and so I answered it.
"Hey Darryl, is George back yet?"
"Yeah... He got back a few minutes ago and I just talked to him."
"What did he say?" I asked, suddenly curious.
"About you... not anything good... but besides that he seems relatively fine... and sad."

I let out a sigh. It was an understandable way for George to react but it still hurt.
I turned back to the computer to try and do some work before trying to actually get some work done.
