THE SMELL OF ALCOHOL and the dim lights was the first thing that greeted nico as she walked through the front door. people were grouped up and loud music was blasting from speakers – just what she had expected.
they glossed over the groups of people to see what areas were somewhat empty along the further parts of the house and she couldn't help but cringe internally at the fact that she'd have to talk to a bunch of people in a single night. she wouldn't consider herself an introvert but some people in the scene were just... too much.
"this is boring. there's gotta be at least a single person who's snorting crack somewhere," kat couldn't help but snicker and continue babbling about the fact that they didn't even have her favorite hard liquor on display. nico laughed at her agony as she lead them further down the house, stopping conversation once they reached the kitchen

as they sipped on the juice they had just served themself, they watched as kat settled into a conversation with some other streamers. so nico used it as her opportunity to wander around and see the different people that showed up to the party.
she had greeted other people she briefly knew and held small conversations as she walked around, sipping on their juice until they eventually ended up at the sliding backdoor. in the far distance, through the glass, they could see a small run down shed and light emitting from inside. in an instant, nico was reminded of the summer parties she used to attend.
nico gripped the handle of the door with their free hand and tugged it open, immediately, a small breeze brushed her face and she let out a sigh she didn't know she was holding. as she trudged her way through the grass and worn down pavement leading to the shed, she could hear music coming from inside and it was one of her favorite songs.
"baby you're moving now, moving in your white jeans," they sung under their breath, finally reaching the shed door. the smell of alcohol and substances hit her nose and she scrunched it, tugging the door fully open.
"ISAAC! BROTH- oh." nico stepped into the shed and spotted a bunch of semi familiar content creators, the only one she actually knew there was the misfits. she flashed them a smile and then she looked at the person who had mistaken her for someone else. "nick! hi!! what're you guys up to?"
"just having fun," he stuck out his hand with a cup in it, urging her to take it, "where's katie?" nico took the cup and placed down her other one, forgetting about sobriety completely. "she was talking to some people," she glanced around as nick rolled his eyes and said something snarky. she spotted fitz and swagger in their own corner smoking god knows what. and on the other hand, there was an out of place guy dressed in spongebob attire drinking a caprisun.
"but anyways, isaac was getting some more drinks for us but he still isn't back.." nick pat nico's shoulder. "well, I gotta go piss so I'll see you around nicole!" nico nodded and sipped on her drink as she watched him scatter off to the bathroom, wondering who isaac was. she wasn't all that in tune with nick's friends although him and katie had been dating for about a month now.
nico tapped her foot on the floor, singing softly to the song that was playing now before heading to the couch. there was chatter but not to the point where it was unbearable. it was actually kind of nice to be in here now that she thought about. as she sunk into the soft material, fitz plopped down next to her.
"hey nicotine. it's been a while." nico hadnt heard his voice in so long that his aussie accent was almost charming. she couldn't help the smile that broke out on her face as she leaned on him. "hi. it has been a while."
at the last big party nico had attended, she had gotten so drunk she had stripped on top of a table in front of a big crowd of people. she was thankful that katie had pulled her down before she could strip fully and that nobody had recordemos anything.
"stop distancing yourself," fitz pat nico's knee and smiled directly at them. nico put his hand over his and gently moved it, "cam..." she stared at him before swiftly kissing his cheek. "I know things have happened between us, but..." she gave him a smile after he smiled, a giggle breaking out between them.
"okay, nico." their conversation then carried out casually and they caught each other up on what had happened in the last couple of months they hadn't talked to each other. and at this point, nicole was already tipsy.
