Another idea from kirbsaki on Twitter!

Green had recently become a very prominent color in George's wardrobe ever since he had moved in with Dream, and especially since they had started dating. He knew that the color was Dream's favorite, and it was one of his subtle ways of trying to make Dream happy. It was also partially because the color was beginning to grow on him as well, despite the fact that he really couldn't see it well. It was just Dream's color, and anything he saw that resembled Dream's silly little Minecraft skin's color just reminded George of him and never failed to pull a small smile from his lips. So, whenever George was out and something green caught his eye, George would purchase it and make it permanent part of his wardrobe. Instead of the black and grays that had filled his closet before were more and more shirts or sweaters in his new favorite color, the color of his boyfriend.

One morning when George awoke he pulled on one of his large green sweaters, not bothering to change out of his pj pants before leaving his room. As he padded along the carpeted floor of the hallway he could hear Dream messing about in the kitchen, the distinctive sounds of a spatula scraping against a pan and the humming of his boyfriend carrying down the hallway. George couldn't fight the small fond smile that grew on his lips as he stepped into the kitchen, listening while he could to whatever song it was Dream had stuck in his head today.

"Oh, you're up!" Dream grinned after finally turning around and spotting George sitting down at the table. "Good morning!"

"Morning," George greeted back as arms wrapped their way around his shoulders, Dream sitting himself down on George's lap. Smiling lips found their way against his, tasting faintly of chocolate chips that he probably used in their pancakes this morning. George's hands found their way to the small of Dream's back as he pulled his lips away, not wanting him to fall backwards onto the cold kitchen floor.

"You're up a bit early today," Dream mumbled, not needing to speak loudly when he was already in George's space. "Sleep well?"

George hummed in agreement, holding a bit tighter onto Dream. His cheeks flushed a pale pink as he spoke almost too soft to be heard. "Always do with you."

Dream cooed at him with a soft smile. "You're so sweet, baby."

George's cheeks went from pink to red at Dream's words, turning his face away from his boyfriend to mutter complaints that they both knew he didn't mean. Dream chuckled softly, fingers running along the soft fabric of George's sweater.

"You've been wearing that color an awful lot," Dream said, hand coming to a stop at George's waist.

George swallowed thickly, mumbling out his soft admittance. "Reminds me of you... since it's your favorite."

Dream paused at that, no words coming from his lips for a few long moments. George was about to start worrying when he caught sight of the wide grin that has formed on Dream's lips, staring at George with so much love and fondness that he could barely handle it. George's stomach filled with an intense swarm of warmth and love, all because of the man before him.

"You are just... indescribably adorable," Dream finally breathed, giggles escaping his lips and a few tears escaping his eyes. George was quick to raise a hand and wipe them away, concern filling his features. He hadn't meant to make Dream cry. "Happy, don't worry. Just... fuck, that's so cute."

"It's not that cute," George huffed, eyes fixing themselves on the stove rather than on Dream's face. The absolute adoration in Dream's eyes made his stomach twist almost unbearably. Speaking of the stove... "Pancakes are burning, Dream."

"What?" Dream asked, sudden topic change throwing him off. A moment later the panic set in on his face and he leapt out of George's lap, scrambling for the pancakes. "Shit!"

George laughed at him as he made his way over to save the pancakes, cold hands pressing against his cheeks to cool the burning of awkwardness. He was glad that Dream had been so happy about his reason for wearing so much green lately.

"We're all good, I saved the pancakes!" Dream called over to George after a few minutes had passed them by. "Foods all done now."

On cue, Sapnap stepped into the kitchen and headed over to make his own plate. He was shooed away by Dream, who was attempting to prepare George's plate before the rest of theirs.

"Oh come on, he doesn't need to be first every morning!" Sapnap complained, elbowing Dream in the side and grabbing for the spatula again. Dream dodged his grabs, continuing to pile pancakes on George's plate.

"Oh yeah," Sapnap said as he glanced back towards George, giving up on being first. "I've been meaning to ask George, what's up with all the yellow you've been wearing?"

A quiet pause filled the kitchen as George processed Sapnap's words. After a few moments George and Dream both spoke at the same time.

"Sapnap!"
"Dream!"

"Why did you have to say something?" Dream yelled at an extremely confused Sapnap.

"Why didn't you say anything, Dream?" George retaliated, embarrassed warmth coming to his cheeks once again. "I thought it was green!"

Another silence settled over the three of them, the ridiculousness of the situation seeming to finally set in. Sapnap was the first to break it with his loud and raucous laughter, joined almost immediately after by Dream and George.

The rest of breakfast was filled with giggles, and George soon found that despite his little mistake, Dream still felt an incredible fondness for George just for the idea that George had tried to wear green just because of him.
