Part 12

Betty carefully got up and tucked Isabella under the duvet before walking over to Jughead who was still standing in the door.

He pulled her into his arms and she let out a breath that she had been holding in.

They walked into their room and laid down in bed together silently.

He had his arms wrapped around her body and she had her head resting in the crook of his neck. Suddenly she spoke.

Betty- Juggie...

Jughead- Yeah?

Betty- What are we gonna do?

Jughead- What are you talking about?

Betty- With Isabella, I still have to finish school and we can't just leave her alone...

Jughead- Maybe she can stay with your mom.

Betty- I would love that b-but if my d-dad- (tears)

Jughead- Hey, don't worry about him, he's not getting out of jail anytime soon.

Betty- Okay, I'm gonna call my mom and see if she can watch her.

Jughead nodded as Betty got up and walked into the bathroom that was attached to their room.

As soon as she dialled her moms number, she answered.

On the phone:

Alice- Hey honey, how are you doing?

Betty- I'm okay but I have a favour I need to ask you.

Alice- Okay...

Betty- Can I leave Isabella with you when I go to school tomorrow?

Alice- Of course, I would love to spend time with my granddaughter.

Betty- Thank you.

Alice- No problem, I'll see you tomorrow.

Betty- Okay, bye.

Off the phone:

She walked back to the bed and laid down in Jughead's arms.

He pulled her close to him and rubbed up and down her back.

Jughead- What did she say?

Betty- She said yes. (quietly)

Jughead- Why do you not sound happy about that?

Betty- I'm nervous to leave her alone.

Jughead- But she won't be alone.

Betty- I just don't want to leave her.

Jughead- I know you don't but it'll be okay, I promise.

Betty- Yeah.

He gave her a kiss on the head when suddenly she heard her text tone go off.

She grabbed her phone from her nightstand and went into her text messages.

She immediately saw a notification from Veronica.

On text:

Veronica- Hey B, I saw you weren't in school today and I wanted to make sure you're okay?

Betty- Oh thank you, I'm okay.

Veronica- Good, did you find your little angel?

Betty- I did.

Veronica- OMG, YOU MUST SEND ME A PICTURE!!!

She quickly went into her camera roll and found the picture that Jughead had taken of them earlier in the day.
