22. Planning The Future

"Father, brother I have serious issues to talk about..."

Father immediately says, "You have to go to school. No escape."

Jake transforms into a rooster with golden tails.

Jeff asks, "Aren't you a rat?"

"Master Damon fakes my data to protect me. Father, brother, I'm divine rooster. People would catch me for various reasons."

Father sighs. He has heard about the divine rooster in legends. Never know his son would be it.

Jake explains, "The school will test beast power. I don't wanna go back."

Father says, "You stay at home. Keep away from troubles."

Jeff asks, "You could go to another school, right?"

Jake nods his head. He has done online research since he got home.

He says, "There is a good academy in White Tiger Kingdom. I wanna go there."

Jeff complaints, "Why not choose school in this country?"

"Their hunting lessons is the best in the world. I wanna be top level hunter."

Father pinches his forehead.

He warns, "It's too dangerous."

It's the first time someone is worried for me. I know they aren't my real family. My heart feels warm.

Jake says, "Father, I will be careful."

Jeff offers, "Let me take you there."

"Bro, you still got many ads to shoot. My friends will go with me. No worries."

They talk for a while before finally father gives his permission.

He says, "I will arrange your passport right away. The Crown Prince, did he know..."

"Yes. That's why he captured me."

"Stay away from him."

"Of course."

Jeff taps on his shoulder before leaving.

He comments, "I will give you a big bag of desserts later."

"Big bro, you're the best!"

Jeff sighs and leaves the bedroom. Jake pretends to be cheerful. His eyes show he is still hurt.

Jake contacts Denzel but the later won't accept his phone call.

He sends a message, "Got one year assignment for you two. Come and join my hunt in White Tiger Kingdom. Payment 300,000."

"No."

"Paid half in advance."

There is long silence from other end. Probably they are discussing right now.

Finally Denzel types, "Show me the money."

Jake curses while he transfers the money to his bank account.

Denzel checks his bank account.

He sends a message, "You pay for foods and accommodations."

He knows Jake too well. The guy always cutting corners. Trying to cut their wages.

Jake chuckles. The naive hunter is smarter now.

He types, "Sure. Food and inns on me. I'm rich now."

Jake couldn't help and remembers Rudolf again. This trip won't be available if he didn't get money from him. He grits his teeth and shakes his head. No need to remember that jerk.
