Jason's POV
Once we're all out of the house, we all split into groups and head out into the pack, some going for more help, other following my dad to the hospital, a few Warriors going out ahead to scout, and the rest with me.
The group of wolves that agreed to help me either follow me in cars or run alongside the run in the woods beside the road, Luis sitting there the passenger seat of my car as we make our way over to Nicks families house, my mind constantly reaching out into the areas around us, searching for the familiar feeling of Nicks mind. but coming up empty, my stomach feeling queasy as I try not to think about what could be happening to him.
Keeping my hands on the wheel, I accelerate a little more, my emotions jumping all over the place, wishing I was a Witch so I could pop us wherever I wand without waiting for a ride.
Finally after a ten minute ride, that should have been a lot longer, I follow the directions of the wolf in the backseat towards a blue farmhouse thats at the end of a cul-da-sac, a few cars sitting in front of it already, and I sigh in relief, knowing I wouldn't be able to explain everything that's happened by myself.
I pull quickly next to the curb, barely taking the time to pull my key from the ignition before going out of the car and striding quickly towards the front door, Luis on my heels.
I knock on the door impatiently, the knocks ringing out through the house, and only after a moment, it gets opened, the son, Darren standing on the other side with a serious solemn face, his eyes landing directly on mr as soon as the door is opened.
While our party members arrive and make their way up to the house, Darren steps aside to let them in before walking towards me, tear drained eyes staring me down.
"What the fuck happened?" He asks me, clearing wanting to get the answering from the source.
Ryan bristles at how close Darren is, but I swallow the urge to fight the similar sized wolf, and answer him, knowing that I would want answers if I were him.
"Shannon caught on to us, and she along with Nathan, a human leech that tried to hurt Nick before, have kidnapped him. I need your help to get him back." I tell him bluntly, hating that asking for help gets easier the more you ask for it.
I watch as ten different emotions cross his face until finally Darren passed a hand over his face before shaking his head and motioning for me to come in. "Is your life always this exciting?" He asks me as we walk through the door, and I can head the strain in his voice, worry choking him, and I feel bad, knowing how it feels to feel so helpless.
"You'd be surprised." I tell him, and he attempts a smile and it falls flat, worry still in his face.
When we walk into the house, I follow Darren to the living room and find his family and most of the people from my house as well as a few new faces, all standing around talking, though the voices quiet down when we walk in. I watch as he goes to whisper to his family, their faces paling, the weight on their tires shoulders growing heavier.
I walk further into the room and sit down in open seat on a couch close to Nicks family, my eyes not seeing anything in front of me, my mind a million miles away trying to feel Nick's presence, but my head feels empty and alone, my heart go rings heavier with the longer we wait.
People starts asking questions, and I find myself sitting there listening, hearing the facts of my life out on display for my neighbors to see, but I don't care, my mind only on one thing.
I listen to the voices around me, my chest getting tighter with every word.
"We heard that there's an Omega missing in the pack. What kind of sick bastard goes after an Omega?" Tarik asks, clearly outraged, but I can't find it in me to be upset with him, not caring if he's an Omega or not.
Nicks my Mate. And I would have dragged these bastards along to help even if he wasn't an Omega.
My heart squeezes again at the thought of loosing him, and I squeeze my eyes close as I try to breathe, knowing that somewhere Nick needs me right now.
"He's not just an Omega, he's out son." Sara says stiffly, and Tarik mumbles out his apologies making my back release some of its tension, a small part of me relieved that it's not just up to me to stand up for and protect my Runt, especially knowing how fucked up of a job I did.
'We're eighteen, Jace. I know you don't like it when I tell you think, but you're still young. You don't have all the answers and no one expects us to. It's okay to need help.' Ryan tries to tell me, but I'm too busy ignoring him to listen, my brain scrambling in ways to get Nick back so he can be in my arms once again.
"There's a human boy, his name is Nathan. He's been preying in Nick and now he finally has his hands on him." I hear Luis say, and a growl starts low in my throat that makes the room shift, wanting to respond but the repress the urge, knowing not to challenge a wolf who's Mate is in danger.
"What does this human smell like?" I hear Darren ask, and frown when I do, though he's not looking at me in order to explain.
"Grass and burning wood." Luis says and I watch as Darrens mount falls open and the last thing that I expect, falls out of his mouth.
"I know where he is."
