Y/N's POV

I am in the bathroom bathing my mother.

Y/N: Look up.

Mom: Mmm

I pour water on her.

Mom: Maybe the mailman's throwing them all away.

Y/N: Mom, why are these letters so important to you? What do you think he's gonna do?

Mom: He's gonna help us.

Y/N: But you worked with him, what, 30 years ago? Why would he help us?

Mom looks at me.

Mom: Because Thomas Wayne is a good man. If he knew how we were living, if he saw this place, it would make him sick. I can't explain it to you any better than that.

Y/N: I don't want you worrying about money, Mom. Or me. Everybody's telling me that my stand-up's ready for the big clubs.

Mom: But, Y/N, what makes you think you could do that?

Y/N: What do you mean?

Mom: I mean... Don't you have to be funny to be a comedian?

Y/N's thoughts: Did she seriously just say that?!?!?!?!?!

Y/N: You don't think I'm funny?

Mom: Y/N......

Y/N: I can't believe this!

I stand up.

Mom: Y/N?

I walk out of the bathroom.

Y/N: My own mother..... MY OWN MOTHER!! She doesn't support me with my comedy?!?!

Mom: Y/N? Y/N?! I still need help!

I take a few deep breathes. I then walk back in and finish bathing her.
