The next day at school was painful for Walmart, but this was a different kind of pain than described in the first chapter. This was heartbreak pain. During lunch Whole Foods and Kroger tried their best to console them, but Walmart could barely raise their eyes in fear of accidentally making eye contact with Target or Sams.
After lunch Costco tried to talk to Walmart but was quickly shot down by Whole Foods who ranted about them not even having the courage to ask someone out themself and how they really had the audacity to invite Sams and Target to an outing that was supposed to be only the four of them.
The only happy thing that happened that week was everyone receiving an invitation to Buccees birthday party that weekend.
"Are you going?" Kroger asked Walmart.
Walmart decided that the only way to recover from their shattered heart was to try and heal and maybe the party would be a good way to relax. Plus, they knew Kroger had a crush on Buccees so maybe this was a good opportunity for them.
"Yeah."
And just like that, Walmart began the process of healing.
