IN THE DARKNESS, Alyssa and Taehyung were lying in bed, listening to the hammering rain outside when her head fell to his chest.
In the recent days, torrential downpours and freezing tempretures had swept across the country. Despite the fact that it had been extremely cold, the couple had tried to make the most of it by making hot chocolate, cuddling, telling each other stories and playing board games.
However, during a very intense game of Scrabble, their fun was cut short when there was a power outage as a result of the heavy rains, which happened two hours earlier. Their shared apartment turned into a freezing wasteland due to the electricity being out.
After the power outage, they decided to ditch their board game and retreat to their thick layers of warm blankets in attempt to keep warm from the cold weather.
To build body heat between them, Taehyung drew Alyssa's half-awake body closer to his. "You're so cute," he softly mumbled as he looked down at her, tucking a peice of her brown-dyed hair behind her ear as he cooed.
Despite the fact that she was out of sight, he was confident that she looked stunning. After all, she always looked stunning to him. Hell, she could be wearing a trash bag and he'd still consider her to be the prettiest woman on the planet.
His admiration for her extended to the tiniest of details as well as to the most significant. For example, Alyssa's cat-eyes were one of his favourite feautures, but he also admired her for her penchant for dumping compious amounts of sugar into her coffee to mask the bitter taste.
Taehyung's stomach still swelled with butterflies every time he looked at her, even though they had been dating for over three years. Even though she didn't have to do anything, her very presence in itself was enough to make his pulse accelerate.
He was absolutely whipped for the cuban-korean. When he fell in love with her, I'm telling you, he had fallen deeply. Throughout his entire life, he had never felt so much love for a single person, and this truly terrified him. Even as a child, the concept of love was an alien to Taehyung, he thought love was a foolish concept until Alyssa came along and altered his mindset about it. As a result, he will always be grateful towards her.
