"Honey, I'm home!"

"Ya know you don't have to say that every day." Delia gripped.

Her husband of the last seven months chuckled and pecked her on the cheek. "I know, but it's funny when it gets on your nerves." He gave her a cheeky grin. "What did you do all day?"

"Nothing." Delia rolled her eyes. "You know I did nothing. I've been doing nothing since we got married! We can't even go on a honeymoon!" She yelled.

"Calm down, babe."

"You don't tell girls to calm down! It never helps!" She shouted.

"Okay." He chuckled again and held up his hands in surrender. "I'm sorry, what would help you to calm down? Want a foot rub?"

Delia sighed. "I guess." She walked over to the couch and sat down.

Her husband followed her, sat down beside her, and lifted her legs onto his lap. Then he started rubbing her feet to try to relax her. "So, how was your day?"

Delia sighed. "Kinda weird."

"How so?"

"You remember when I told you about my childhood friends?"

"The ones you had a falling out with your senior year of high school? Yes, I recall you telling me about them when we first met."

She sighed again. "Well, one of them, my ex-best friend Lindy, messaged me today." She said.

He gave her a concerned smile. "Alright, is that a good thing or a bad thing? I wanna know how I should react so I don't upset you."

Delia shrugged. "Beats me. I don't even know how to react to that."

"Well what did she want?"

"To invite me to this get together thing she's hosting to patch things up between all of us and get the old gang back together again."

He nodded and moved his hands to her other foot. "I understand your concerns. On the one hand it's a nice thought that your ex-friends could work things out and possibly become your friends again, but on the other hand if things don't go as smoothly as you hope then the animosity between you could become worse until the idea of making up is nothing more than some fleeting fantasy."

"Exactly. What should I do?"

Her husband moved his hand up her shin and rubbed her leg. "I think you should take the chance and go." He grinned. "After all, you took a chance on me and that worked out pretty well." He let out a small chuckle, then he sighed. "If you promise to be careful then I think you should take the chance."

"Thanks, Gordon. You always know the right thing to say."

He smirked. "It's a gift." He tapped her butt with his hand. "Now, text your old friend and say yes."

Delia smiled. "Okay, okay, I will!" She chuckled as she pulled her phone out of her pocket.

Delia, I'm really sorry and I hope it's not too late to make things right. I understand if you never want to talk to me again, but we- I really miss you. Logan and I want to invite you to a get together that hopefully Garrett and Jasmine will come too also. We hope you can make it. Let me know what you think and if it's okay then we can work out a day and time later.

Lindy, I'll come. Thanks for the invite. Let me know the deets.

Delia smiled and sent the text.

"I'm glad you're gonna give your friends another chance." He smiled. "Maybe you're fight back then was just stupid teenager stuff and now that you're adults you can talk to each other calmly without anyone getting their feelings hurt." He stated as he rubbed her calves to help ease her tension.

"I don't know, maybe, I mean Lindy did say sorry in her message so maybe she really does want to make up." Delia smiled for half a second, but it became a frown quickly after. "I guess."

"I bet she does. Go and have fun, honey. I'll be right here waiting for you to return." He smiled.
