𝐑𝐔𝐄 𝐖𝐀𝐋𝐊𝐄𝐃 𝐃𝐎𝐖𝐍 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐇𝐀𝐋𝐋 with a tired look on her face. it had been at least a week since her mother had packed up all of her belongings and went back to chicago. even though she had been in chicago the last few months, her moving out for good was taking a huge toll on the twins and mike. the twins had been coming to school in their pajamas, neither one of them caring about how they looked. and mike hadn't slept in his bed since lynne left, camping on the couch and being buried under blankets and empty take out containers.

she was walking between ricky and big red, the girl having a hood pulled over her head so she can at least contain how much of a mess she was. she had felt a prick at the back of her mind, telling her that someone was looking at her from afar. she turned her head, looking around to see who it was, her heart skipping a beat when she saw that it was gina. the two hadn't really been talking since rue found out about the wonderstudies plan. gina had wanted to come up to her and apologize, but because of her still going along with the plan, she couldn't just yet.

"dude, i'm just saying. this is your chance." big red said, making rue tear her eyes away from gina and over to the boy.

"the last thing i'm gonna do is ask nini to homecoming on the day of the dance." ricky shot back.
