𝐑𝐔𝐄 𝐖𝐀𝐒 𝐒𝐀𝐓 𝐎𝐍 𝐎𝐍𝐄 𝐎𝐅 𝐓𝐇𝐄 picnic tables that were scattered around the camp. she had showered and changed into her pajamas while the other girls of honeycomb bunk was out helping kourtney get over her fear of the rock wall. she had planned on going back to the bunk when all the girls had gone to sleep. what she hadn't planned was remy finding out where she was. the washington boy was shirtless, a towel around his shoulders while water dripped from his hair (which had curled up). the boys had done the camp tradition in pouring buckets of ice cold water over themselves. she didn't understand why that was a tradition, but. . . boys will be boys.

"hey." he greeted, a hint of sadness in his voice.

rue turned to look at him, watching as he sat next to her on the picnic table. "hey. how was the bucket thingy?"

"cold. very fucking cold." remy answered, which earned a chuckle from rue.

"i can only imagine." rue mumbled.

remy scoffed, nodding his head. silence fell over the two of them like a blanket, it being a comfortable one. remy had wrapped the towel around him tighter, knowing that he probably should've gone and changed into some dry clothes. but he needed to check on rue, the last time he saw her being when she had barged into his bunk with tears running down her cheeks. he also wanted to fill her in on what was happening in his life.
