The Siwaz-class diesel-electric submarine constructed by Timur Marine (Timar) with the additional  from the Federal Republic of Rascia and Rio Dimuji in the late 1980s. It was one of the first joint naval project  between Varunai and other AIN members to replace the former Trabant-class submarines. The Siwaz-class  submerged top speed is 20 knots (37 km/h; 23 mph) and its surfaced top speed is 15 knots (22 km/h; 14 mph).

The Siwaz-class is armed with six 533mm torpedo tubes and three 400mm torpedo tubes for Volga-Rhenish Starkwind heavyweight torpedoes and Brise lightweight torpedoes. This would later be replaced by the indigenous-made Jerung and Barakuda torpedoes.

There are thirteen vessel in service; KDV Siwaz, KDV Keris, KDV Golok, KDV Sansibar, KDV RudusKDV Niabor, KDV Kampilan and KDV Si Euli.

Kujang-class attack submarine is the latest submarine vessel introduced to the Maritime Forces in 2020 constructed by Timar with the help from the Volga-Rhenish Union. The Kujang-class serves as the successor of the Siwaz-class attack submarine, replacin the electric-diesel propulsion system with air-independent propulsion (AIP) allowing the vessel to travel with submerged top speed is 21.5 knots (39.8 km/h; 24.7 mph) and its surfaced top speed is 11 knots (20 km/h; 13 mph)

The Kujang-class is armed with eight 533mm torpedo tubes for Jerung heavyweight torpedoes.

Currently only six submarines are commissioned; KDV Kujang, KDV Klewang, KDV Luwuk, KDV Surik, KDV Mandau and KDV Gari.
