Sapnap awoke to heaving breathing and frantic moving beside him. This wasn't an uncommon event. In fact he was worried with how much it happened, not that he would bring it up with anybody. Carefully he turned around and tried grabbing the hand of the startled boy. They flinched away making him frown more. Wordlessly he moved the blankets away from both of them and sat in front of his fiance. After a few more minutes he carefully pulled the mans hands away from their chest and held them between the two of them.

"It's okay, you're safe, you're real. You're here in the present, you're breathing, you're alive, you're safe, everything alright." He continued rubbing his thumb in circles against his fiances palm while whispering reassurances. Eventually he allowed himself to move closer. The blaze hybrid intertwined his fingers with his lovers and spoke softly. "Your name is Karl Jacobs, you're twenty-three years old, you live in Kinoko Kingdom. You love to paint your nails bright and amazing colors, you love old cartoons you get from villagers, and you love all of your friends and your fiances."

Karl nodded along and slowly started bringing his knees down. Sapnap smiled. He let himself radiate small amounts of heat and brought their intertwined hands to his chest. He kissed Karl's hand before continuing.

"My name is Sapnap, I'm twenty years old, I live in Kinoko Kingdom. I love arson, I love my fish, and I love letting my fiance paint my nails. I'm a blaze hybrid that you love to cuddle because I'm warm." Karl giggled at that and nodded matter-of-factly. Sapnap smiled and moved closer. "You also love being close to me because your love language is touch and you always want to be able to lean on me or hug me or kiss me."

He stayed quiet allowing small waves of memories move around in Karl's mind. Eventually Karl moved between his legs and rested their back against his chest. He smiled and pulled him closer. He held out his hands again allowing Karl to take them if he wanted. Thankfully he did. Sapnap smiled and continued.

"We have another friend that lives here. His name is George. He loves sleeping and building hobbit homes while his friends fight in wars. You're both colorblind, him more than you." Sapnap chuckled and pressed a small kiss to the back of Karl's head. "The three of us built Kinoko Kingdom and spread propaganda around to try and get people to join. Tommyinnit and Drista bombed us once but I fixed it before you got back and we're all still friends." He smiled looking back at the memory of the bomb squad. He looked down to see Karl's sleepy face. He was often sleepy after waking up in the middle of the night and doing their 'memory exercises'.

"You love me and I love you. Are we okay now?" Karl nodded and turned around to lay his chin on Sapnap's chest and look up at him. Sapnap smiled and lazily wrapped his arms around him. Minutes passed and he felt his breathing slow. Sleep was calling him back and for a moment all he wanted to do was accept it. The question hasn't been asked and he feels something inside him happy Karl hasn't seemed to remember that part. He never is sure how to answer.

"Where's Q?"

Elsewhere a duck hybrid grips his pillows between his chest and legs and sobs into them wanting nothing more than to go back to his lovers and beg for forgiveness for leaving them without a word. He promises himself he would go back later that day knowing that promise would be broken.
