Sort of a filler until I figure out how to get to the drama I want
~Chapter 10~
"Good morning" Steve said as he walked past Hadley, who stood sleepily in the kitchen, staring aimlessly into a cabinet
She hummed in response
"Didn't sleep well?" Steve asked, looking her over
"Somethin like that.." Hadley mumbled
"Didn't get any sleep at all?" Steve asked
Hadley nodded. Steve was usually the one finding her when she came in far too late.
"I told you you should stop doing all those late night patrols. It's not good for you" he said
"I'll live" Hadley replied, grabbing a coffee from the fridge (one of those Starbucks things idk I don't drink coffee)
She downed it pretty quick before throwing the bottle away
Steve watched her with a slightly disappointed expression
"You can stop looking at me like that dad" Hadley said, commenting on the look
"I'm just concerned that's all" Steve replied, looking down at something on the counter
"Well I appreciate it but I've been living with this for years now so... I'll be fine.." she said
"Well at some point you're gonna break down.." Steve said
"I'll be fine" she repeated, grabbing another coffee before leaving the room
Steve shook his head slightly
"You do sound like a dad" Nat said as she walked through the kitchen
"I do not"

Hadley sighed as she sat down at the desk in her room
She leaned on one hand as she lifted the other, watching different items on her desk float off
"Are you okay?" A voice asked from the door
Hadley looked over at Bruce "Yeah I'm fine" she said, "just tired"
"I heard what happened yesterday. Want to talk about it?" Bruce asked
"Tony told you?" She asked
He nodded
She sighed "There's nothing to talk about. I've told him I don't have friends. Now he knows why"
"Because you push them away?" He asked
Hadley sighed, looking back at the desk, setting the things down
"It's not like I try to" she said
"Well we're friends. You haven't pushed me away" Bruce said, looking at her as he leaned on the doorway
"We're friends?" Hadley said with a slight smile
"Well yeah... At least I thought so.." Bruce said
Hadley smiled more, looking at her desk "Awesome..." She said, "But I don't know.. Tony's... Tony's different..."
"Different? Because you like him?" Bruce asked
"I don't-!" Hadley took a small breath, "I don't like him. He's narcissistic... He's actually kind of an asshole... I don't like him."
"Is that why you push him away then?" Bruce asked
"I don't know... Maybe? Why are you asking me all this?" She said, looking at him
"Because I believe that you're hurting. And you pushing Tony away is part of that" Bruce said, "so I'm just trying to help"
"Thank you Bruce but I don't need help... I'm fine really. Tony and I just aren't meant to be friends" Hadley said
"Alright then.."

It was late at night, Hadley was laying on the couch in the living area, staring aimlessly at the tv.
She wasn't even watching it. She was tired, and after three of those Starbucks coffee things she was crashing.
It wasn't long before she had fallen asleep
Tony was walking back from his lab, heading to his room for the night when he noticed the tv on.
He looked around, not seeing anyone.
"Who left the tv on?" He asked himself, walking over to find the remote.
That was when he saw the passed out girl on the couch
"Oh" he mumbled, looking around.
He turned off the tv then looked at Hadley quietly. He hesitated a moment before picking her up slowly and gently
He froze as she shifted a little before settling into his chest
He looked down at her quietly then sighed and walked to her room
On the way, he met Nat
"Hey Tony-"
"Shhh" he shushed her quickly and she noticed Hadley
"What's happening?"
"She fell asleep. Just taking her to her room" Tony said
"Oh" Nat said, watching as Tony nodded and looked at Hadley in silence.
Nat smiled, seeing the look in his eyes before starting to walk past him
"Hey Nat-"
"Don't worry I won't tell a soul" Natasha said
"... Thanks" Tony replied before he continued to Hadley's room
He laid her down on the bed and covered her up, making sure she was comfortable.
Once he was satisfied, he stood back, watching her for a moment
He sighed "Why do you push me away.." he mumbled
He shook his head and left the room, letting her sleep
