My hands trembled. I felt my body shaken, and my clothes drench in wet clothes. I looked at the mirror in front of me, that is when I realize who I was.
"Scarlet?" A voice startled me, or should I say her.
I turned," Peggy." Her blonde curls shine in the golden light of the corridor. Her eyes gleam—not with kindness, but something else. Something wrong
"Are you alright? You seem shaken-- out of fear," Peggy remained in the dark, sitting in chair, positioned as a Queen.
Scarlet didn't hesitate to tell Peggy Drood what happened," The Duke, he is dead. I was scared he'd hurt Thomas. But then... Thomas killed him." Scarlet shed tears out of fear, "Thomas, he wasn't himself. He became something else, a monster," Scarlet remained shaken.
I swallowed the guilt pressing in my throat from the word Monster.
"You mean the Grand Guignol," Peggy slowly stood up and slowly made herself more visible with the light up candles. Scarlet let out a breath.
"Peggy, your eyes are different?" Scarlet eyes were fixed on Peggy's golden eyes, eyes shape like a cat.
"Thomas who was in love with you, sought out to someone to help him to become powerful. Trust me, Scar, I am purrfectly happy with who I am," Peggy smirked. Scarlet did not seem afraid of the Cat lady.
"Now, that you know he is no longer human. Do you still love him?" the Cat lady softly asked.
"I ran away from him. Not because of how he looked. I ran because I was terrified for what he has done. And my love for him hasn't died," she said without hesitation.
Suddenly, a hand clamped over my mouth. Arms locked around me from behind. I screamed, but it came out muffled. My eyes went wide.

"Oh, Scarlet. You should have accepted the duke's proposal. You should have left Thomas and made him believe the letter," She approached me. I struggled, but the grip on me only tightened.
"Thomas is no more," she said, stepping closer. "He will become the King of the Monsters."
She reached for my hand, "Such a pretty ring," slipping the engagement ring from my finger. "I have always loved him. The moment my eyes met his it was love, but then you had to fall of the stage and be caught into his arms. A whore."
Fury surged through me. I bit the hand covering my mouth and managed to gasp, "How could you? You planned the rumors. You filled him with lies!"
Peggy's golden eyes gleamed. "Yes. Because when you want something, you take it. You were in my way, Scarlet. So now you have to die. Once you're gone, Guignol will realize how much I love him."
