I got called into work because Stacy couldn't make it and I was the next best thing. I got changed into my uniform and said goodbye to F/N on my way out. I groaned at the thought of having to deal with all the other teachers and volunteers, what made it worth it was the children

I volunteer at the preschool but I also work as a substitute for the middle school's special needs kids, they ranged from kids with autism or ADHD to kids with learning disabilities and kids who just needed extra help. It was a bit stressful dealing with them but it was worth it cuz they'd always get excited when they actually got things correct

I stepped into the classroom and everyone looked at me with big smiles, they always told me I was better than their real teacher so I tried to substitute more often for them. I did attendance and there were a couple kids home sick. We moved onto the first lesson and then the next, the hours seemed to go by rather quickly

Finally it was recess and the kids rushed out of the door with excitement making me laugh. I genuinely enjoyed working with kids, they were way easier to deal with than adults, even the special needs kids. I was snapped out of my thoughts by a tap on the window and turned around to see a familiar blue mask

Jack waved to me and I sighed rubbing my temple, I stood up and opened the window "What the hell are you doing here?" I looked down at him with an annoyed expression. This man had followed me wherever possible for the past week, he honestly reminded me of a lost puppy

He shrugged before climbing in making me just stare at him confused. He looked around before turning to me "Didn't think you'd be a teacher." A soft chuckle left his lips making me glare at him "Quiet you, and get out before someone sees you!" He shook his head and sat down on my desk

I smacked my forehead with a groan and glared at him once more, "If you get caught I swear..." I crossed my arms and leaned back against the desk beside him, "I won't." His tone was serious which made me question how often he's had to hide

I sighed and shook the thought out of my head before looking up at Jack who had taken his mask off, he grinned widely showing his shark-like teeth that I for some reason was obsessed with. I couldn't help but laugh softly at the fact that this, inhuman creature, was smiling down at me and being friendly. Though he didn't really talk much he still made good company and was fun to just sit with

He was straightforward and blunt which sometimes was difficult because he always spoke the truth about everything, he was good at reading people's body language, emotions and facial expressions which made it easy for him to tell how someone was feeling

I was snapped out of my thoughts by children screaming and giggling, Jack quickly hopped out of the window and waved goodbye to me before ducking down, I closed the window with a sigh and sat back down at my desk looking out of the window

School was over with and I had papers to stay late and grade, I groaned and rubbed my temple, all the other teachers had already left and some were just hanging out in the cafeteria while I was grading papers in the classroom. Most of the kids were actually really smart, it's just Stacy was too lazy to actually try with these poor kids

I heard a tap on the window which quickly washed away my gloomy mood, I looked over to see Jack and couldn't help but smile before rushing over and opening it, he climbed in and turned to me "Happy to see me?" He sounded amused and I grumbled before lightly punching his arm making him laugh softly

We sat down at my desk together, Jack pulled a chair over and leaned on the desk watching me grade papers. He took his mask off and set it down on the desk, he rested his head in his arms and looked up at me "You look weird when you're focused..." His bluntness was one quality that always kind of annoyed me, I sighed before glaring at him making him grin

I set my pen down and crossed my arms, he tilts his head curiously, "You're unbearable..." I sighed throwing my head back, that got a chuckle out of him. He was unbearable but at the same time he was amazing, he made me angry and happy at the same time, he made me hate him yet like him at the same time, he was a very confusing individual

I finished grading the papers and stood up "You need to go before you get caught by someone, I'll be heading home soon." I waved to him before leaving the room and heading to the cafeteria where the other teachers are

-Jack's POV-

I watched them leave the room, I put my mask back on with a sigh. Sometimes I wish I could just keep them to myself, they made me feel emotions I'd never felt before, they were so kind yet naive, they trusted me too much too quickly and it irritated me, I followed them around whenever and to wherever I could to make sure they were safe, I mean trouble seemed to always find them so

I stood up and stretched, I decided I should try to head back to the house and wait for them while trying to stay out of sight from F/N as usual, unfortunately they'd moved in with Y/N after the incident with that bastard, so sneaking around was hard when F/N was always home. I'd contemplated killing them and stealing their kidneys many times but thought better of it because I knew Y/N would hate me if I did

I opened Y/N's window and quietly climbed in before shutting the window and sitting down on the floor to wait for them
