𝚂𝚝𝚎𝚊𝚕 𝚢𝚘𝚞|| ℂ𝕙𝕒𝕡𝕥𝕖𝕣 𝟞

I was still waiting for Y/N, my patience quickly wearing thin as I started to tap my foot, I sighed as I stood up and started pacing around the room. I plopped back down on the floor and started tapping my foot again. It felt like hours before I heard footsteps approaching the door, in stepped Y/N with a very stressed expression, I tilted my head when they looked at me, their expression quickly softened into a small smile as they shut the door behind them

They walked to their bed and sighed before sitting down, they ran their fingers through their soft, silky, looking h/c locks with yet another stressed expression. I stood up and made my way to them before sitting beside them, they looked up at me and forced a smile, I hated seeing them upset. I took my mask off and set it beside me before looking back at them grinning, they seemed to like my smile which was new for me. They genuinely smiled this time and shook their head before laying back onto the bed. I looked down at them, they had closed their eyes and looked so peaceful

This expression was one I loved, one I wished they'd always have, the expression that made me want to take them away, to steal them away and keep them safe. I smiled down at them. They opened their eyes with a sigh and looked over at me "Hey Jack... What do you do when you're not here?" The question kind of surprised me, but I expected them to ask this question eventually, they were just too curious not to. I shrugged, I wasn't ready to talk to them about the mansion. "That's a secret for now." They hummed with a big smile "Such a mysterious man." I couldn't help but grin at that comment

I was able to leave the mansion for long periods of time without suspicion, after all it had always been normal for me to just disappear for a while and reappear like nothing happened, I didn't want to talk to them about the mansion because I knew they'd become more curious, and I certainly did not want any of those... Rats.. Getting to Y/N. Just the thought made my blood boil and I clenched my fists

-Y/N POV-

I noticed Jack was lost in thought and couldn't help but smile, but my smile quickly faded when the events of just an hour ago replayed in my head. I had just gotten fired and for no reason I might add, not to mention I got a text from my brother saying mom and dad passed away a week ago, I'd spent over twenty minutes crying in the bathroom before regaining my composer and making my way home

My whole life was suddenly falling apart at the seams and I was finding it increasingly hard to hold my emotions in, I wanted to scream, I wanted to cry, I wanted to hit something, I was angry and sad yet numb, I wanted to curl into a ball and forget the world existed. Hot tears rolled down my cheeks, I covered my eyes with my hands and sighed shakily trying to calm down

I wiped my eyes trying to hide the fact that I had started crying, not that it really mattered as I knew Jack probably already noticed. I sniffled and sat up, I looked over at Jack who had been watching me intently, I forced a smile the best I could "I'm fine, just a bit emotional." I tried to reassure him but it didn't seem to work very well, he crossed his arms and turned his body to face me

I looked down trying to hide my face from him, the tears started to well up in my eyes and I tried to hold them back yet failed miserably as they rolled down my cheeks. Jack lifted my chin and wiped my tears with a soft smile, his touch was comforting and I closed my eyes. I pulled my legs to my chest and he removed his hand from my cheek "What's wrong?" He tilted his head slightly to the side

I sighed and explained to Jack everything that happened before I came back, his expression became slightly agitated. I wiped my eyes again and sniffled before looking up at him, he seemed to be deep in thought for a moment before looking at me "So about your earlier question..." I tilted my head waiting for him to continue "How about I show you?" He smiled softly

-Jack's POV-

I wasn't really thinking when the words left my lips, the only thing I could think about was taking them away and keeping them from anyone one who could possibly hurt them, and I would hurt anyone who dared to lay a finger on a single hair on their head, all I wanted to do in this moment was take them home with me and hide them from everyone else

When they responded with a quick nod, an overwhelming sense of joy filled me and I jumped to my feet, I put my mask on and looked down at them, I'd never felt this amount of joy before in my life, it felt good. I held out my hand to them "Hope you're ready for a long walk through the woods then." I knew they would be, simply out of curiosity

They nodded again and grabbed my hand, I pulled them to their feet and stuffed my hands in my hoodie pockets. They quickly wrote a note for their friend before turning to me with a big, genuine smile full of curiosity and excitement, I knew that excitement would be ripped away the second they realized just how different me and my colleagues are from them, I knew they'd probably want to run away but in the moment I didn't care, I just wanted them to keep smiling

And I'd do anything for them to keep smiling... Anything...
