𝙴𝚊𝚝 𝚢𝚘𝚞𝚛 𝚑𝚎𝚊𝚛𝚝 {𝙴𝚢𝚎𝚕𝚎𝚜𝚜 𝙹𝚊𝚌𝚔 𝚡 𝚁𝚎𝚊𝚍𝚎𝚛}

𝙲𝚑𝚒𝚕𝚍𝚛𝚎𝚗?|| ℂ𝕙𝕒𝕡𝕥𝕖𝕣 𝟙𝟚

Me and Jack had been in the kitchen, I was eating a sandwich and he was complaining about how he didn't have anymore kidneys. I tilted my head to the side and smiled, "We can always go 'hunting' if you want." He looked over at me and paused for a minute before shaking his head, "I wouldn't bring you along." I crossed my arms, "Oh cmon!" I fake pouted and he chuckled, "I wouldn't want you seeing that." He smiled softly at me and I groaned "Please?" I pleaded with him and he sighed

"Ok ok, fine." He finally agreed, most likely because he was annoyed of my pleading. I giggled and hopped down from the counter "Let's go!" I held his hand in both of mine and he let out a heavy sigh as I pulled him along. We made our way to the living room where BEN and Jeff sat watching TV. Jeff looked over at us before smiling at me, Jack got defensive and pulled to him wrapping an arm around me. Jeff shrugged and looked back at the TV

I looked up at him as he looked down at me, I smiled up at him and we made our way out of the mansion. As we stepped outside, I looked up at the towering trees and closed my eyes taking in the fresh air. Jack chuckled before grabbing my hand and leading me through the forest. As we walked I couldn't help but feel like we were being watched. I tugged on Jack's sleeve and he looked down at me confused "I feel like we're being watched.." It made me uncomfortable. Jack looked around before looking back at me "Just stay close." I nodded and stayed closer to him as we walked

It had been a couple hours since we left the mansion and we were still walking. We were mostly searching for anyone who might be in the forest. I was getting tired so I decided to sit down, Jack sat beside me. I yawned and leaned against the tree, it wasn't comfortable but I was too tired to care. I yawned and closed my eyes, only to open them again when I felt Jack lean on me. My cheeks flushed a bit and I cleared my throat before looking down. Jack seemed to have fallen asleep so I tried my best to stay still. I laid my head on his and yawned before closing my eyes again

I hadn't realized I'd passed out until Jack and I were both startled awake by a twig snapping. We were both now very much on guard. Jack was now standing up and I had my hand in my pocket, holding onto the knife inside of it. I stood up slowly and grabbed onto Jack's sleeve for comfort. We waited a few minutes before hearing yet another twig snap. Jack steps forward a bit and I stick close to him. We waited a while for something or someone to pop out, what we weren't expecting were two children

I immediately recognized them as Dustin and Ruby. I dropped my knife and rushed over to them, crouching in front of them. I didn't know why they were here and I didn't care, I was too worried to care. I grabbed their hands in mine "Are you two ok? Where are your parents?" I'd sounded a bit more worried than I'd meant to. Ruby hugged me as she began to cry "Please don't let the bad man get us!" Ruby gripped my shirt tightly and Dustin hugged my arm

I smiled softly and patted their heads "Don't worry, you're safe." I'd always had a soft spot for kids, and that obviously had not changed. I looked over at Jack who was still on guard, then I looked back at the kids. I wondered who Ruby meant by "The bad man" but I didn't bother to ask. Then a man stumbled out from between the trees, he fell limp to ground before twitching a couple times. After the man followed a very happy Jeff, smiling widely with pride. When he saw me he smiled wider

I glared at him realizing they meant Jeff, and the man that just fell limp was most likely the kid's father. I stood up with their hands still in mine. I walked to Jack and crouched back down "Stay right here, ok?" I smiled and they nodded. I grabbed my knife and put it back in my pocket before turning to Jeff and standing up. He seemed proud of himself as he looked down at the dead body

I sighed before looking at Jack "I'm gonna go back." He nodded and I looked down at the kids. I smiled "You wanna come with me? It's kinda scary there." They both nodded and we headed back together with Jeff following close behind. I glared back at him and he simply grinned in response

We made it back to the mansion and I crouched down beside Ruby and Dustin. I smiled softly at them "It's really scary here, are you sure you wanna stay?" They both nodded and Dustin hugged my arm again finally speaking "I'd rather stay with you..." I sighed and nodded "Just be careful here." They both nodded. I brought both of them to my room and told them to stay while I went to get them food

On my way to the kitchen I ran into Jeff. I groaned and he grinned, I pushed past him and entered the kitchen. He leaned on the doorframe and crossed his arms watching me. I glared over at him "What?" He shrugged in response before yawning. I sighed and went back to making the kids something to eat
