After a very successful Christmas in Nashville, Becky and Eric decided to head to New York on New Years Eve since they had a house show at Madison Square Garden the next day and they could take in the New Year New York style. They knew better than to be in Time Square with all the people so they thought it would be a good idea to party in the bar close to their hotel. They are packing for the trip and, of course, Becky gets distracted while Eric is doing all the work and she wraps her arms around his waist and places her head on his back
Becky: "This week has been incredible i don't want to leave"
Eric: *turning around to face her* "Yeah the one downfall of the holidays is going back to reality" he says kissing her forehead "Now we are going to miss our flight if you don't help me pack"
Becky sticks her tongue out at him as she goes back to packing. Finally they are finished and head for the airport, Becky walking through the airport with her hood up so not a lot of people will recognize her. Yes she loves the fan interaction and without them she wouldn't be where she is, but sometimes you just need a break from all that and she just wanted to focus on her and Eric for a little while until she had to go back to regular performing.
They have a boring flight, Becky slept through the whole thing of course, and they land in New York around 8 PM local time, 4 hours till the ball drops and they get their luggage and head for a cab to get to their hotel. It's just down from Time Square where you can still see everything going on but you aren't in the middle of it, just what they wanted. They get their bags all situated and head back downstairs to go to a bar next to the hotel. They walk in and it's an Irish style pub, you can thank Becky for that one as well, and she smiles at him as they make it to the bar and get shots instantly
Eric: "I'm gonna warn you Lass, you aren't going to outdrink me tonight" he says putting on a fake Irish accent
Becky: "Oooooh really? You think you are going to outdrink and Irish woman now?"
Eric: "You have only seen me drink wine, you haven't seen me drink the hard stuff"
Becky: "Well drink up smart guy" she says as they clink glasses and knock back the first shot
3 hours and a lot of shots later and it's almost time for the ball to drop. Becky, Eric and most of the bar patrons walk outside as the ball starts to drop and the countdown begins
