How to Get More Reads, Votes, and Comments on Wattpad

I get it, I get it, I sound like an annoying English teacher. I know everyone says that you need good spelling and grammar, but you really do. I can't tell you how many stories I've exited out of because the spelling and grammar was horrible. Like, I once read a story with grammar like this:

i woke up 1 morning + looked in the mirror i have blond hair + blue eyes im so ugly suddenly my phone rang + it was my bf josh he said where r u were at the park are u coming i said ill be right there i got ready and when i got there it was 9 i was late i said hi how r u they said good u i said good we - 

It hurt just writing that. I get the story idea was horrible but that's not the point - the point is the horrible grammar! Please do not be that person who slacks off so they can have it easy. It makes potential readers leave, and I think that may be your problem if you have a good story but no one reads it.

I mean, how hard is it to put capitals, punctuation, and complete sentences in your story?

I'm not going to bore you with the difference between there, their, and they're, but I am going to say this.

IT'S is an abbreviation for IT IS. ITS is the possessive of IT.

For example:

It's black = It is black.

Its leaves = The leaves that belong to it.

Please, this bothers me so much, so please get your grammar right.

Now onto spelling...

Just read through your story before publishing it. And we have those little red lines under words for a reason! To tell us when something is misspelled or grammatically incorrect. You can also look a word up in a dictionary or online to see how it's actually spelled. These simple things make so much difference, so take the time to use the correct grammar and spelling.

Grammar is everything.
